hilariously, i had done a little bit of fiddling with this last night, but then my head started hurting so i went to bed. what i had come up with so far is almost exactly the same formula. fiddling with the breed columns, since that was just the first one, what i had was this:

=SORT(FILTER(STATS!B8:C,STATS!C8:C<>""),2,False)

the difference here is not likely to matter much for the stats for flight and for colors, because those are unlikely to be added to anytime soon. for breeds and genes, or if you wanted to see the stats on eye types, it's going to be important that you remove the end number on your ranges (B8:C instead of B8:C17), so that the sheet can automatically update to include new breeds/genes/eye types.
that's how many of the references work in the sheet when they pull from other tabs, or from my external database spreadsheet, which is what allows me to add in new items like those without forcing everyone using the sheet to manually add it or make a whole new copy of the sheet.

as far as making the colors stay white if the count is zero/blank, that's going to require some more complicated conditional formatting, and i will not lie to you. custom formulas in conditional formatting is a level of hell that i try to dip my toe in as little as possible for my own sanity. it may be possible or it may not be, and i'm not totally certain if that's because it just is or because i'm just not good at the weird and convoluted ways that custom formulas work in conditional formatting.

@ivycrowned Hahaha - great minds think alike!! Good point re letting the formula go to the whole column. I'll tweak mine accordingly. To be honest, I actually prefer this solution to the 'colours staying white' one anyway, so I am also More Than Happy to not deal with conditional formatting any more!! I'm pretty happy with this now and am still in awe of all the work and expertise you've put into the rest of the sheet. Well done!! thank you! i definitely didn't start from scratch on a lot of it, but i'm glad the love i put into it is visible. even the nightmarish parts have been fun for me, so it's so lovely to get to share it with others. i'm glad the sheet is worth it enough for you to go through the tedious entry bit!

Wow okay, lots of updates recently!
This one is small, and I had hoped I'd be able to make it an auto-update, but alas it is not completely. You can take it or leave it as you like.
I still think this one wouldn't be too hard to update on your own, but it is just a little more complicated, so DM if you wanna know how to do it!

The auto-update:
Eye vials are now included in the data for the projects tab, so those prices will now automatically be included if you plan to change a dragon's eyes to one of those eyetypes.

The manual update:
Silhouette scrolls are now included in the data for the projects tab, but I had to change a few cells in the projects tab to do this. If your new scry for a project has a different gender from the original scry, the cost of a silhouette scroll will be included in the total cost of the project.

something weird is going on with the latest update to the projects tab (specifically the silhouette scroll bit), so the public copy is not currently available to make your own copy of. i will be looking into this and getting it fixed and back up as soon as i can!

• PROJECTS: Fixed error in new scry gender.

Big sigh. I made two errors in the sheet yesterday, one silly and the other sillier. These bugs have now been squashed. The sheet is back up for download. Please ping or DM if you got a copy of 1.6.3, and I'll fix it or tell you how to fix it.

@ivycrowned Thank you so much for your hard work keeping things up to date on this sheet! I love it so much, it's so useful!

I am in the process of updating (A) some formulas throughout the sheet and (B) the database to include Veilspuns and all their genes.

The first thing, the formula revamp, is gonna be a slow process as I work my way through almost every automatically updating cell in the sheet and try to understand what I was doing a year ago lol. The cells will all function the same way, so it's going to be considered a minor update. There's no need to grab a new sheet at all, even though it won't get updated in your sheet. It's just ease of use and ease of future updates on my part.

The second thing, the Veilspuns, is going to all be updated in the database and therefore will update automatically to your sheets. This will, like other ancient breeds, be kind of a process as people figure out the rarity of the new genes.

I'll send out a ping once I've completed the update and feel confident in rarities. In the meantime, some genes may be actively updating in your sheets, so if something is weird, be patient with me please :)

- breed change + cost
- gene names and IDs
- sources and rarities of parallel genes + non-marketplace unique genes

info i still need to input:
- rarities of unique genes
- sources of marketplace unique genes (gem or treasure)
- costs of all genes

things of note:
- thus far, all baldwin and swipp genes have been limited. new genes are being marked as such.
- thus far, all coli drop genes have been uncommon or limited. i'm holding out for someone to have testing results.
- i have not yet looked at gem or treasure prices, but from previous experience, price does not indicate rarity. i'm holding out for testing results.

if you have these results before i post that i've decided and updated the sheet, please feel free to ping me here or on whatever forum thread! i'd appreciate it!

UPDATE

Hi y'all. I have only vaguely been maintaining my FR presence these days (life is busy, working on other projects, etc etc), and as such I've been thinking about this for a little while:

I am no longer maintaining this tool.

The public sheet will remain accessible indefinitely, as will the database sheet that feeds it. However, I will not be fixing bugs or adding new genes, breeds, eye types, etc. As always, I encourage anyone who feels confident to customize and edit their sheets. Along those lines, anyone who wants to update their own sheet is welcome to create their own copy of the database and update the importrange() functions in the Ref1 tab to draw from their own sheets.

If anybody would like, now or in the future, to take over this project, as I took it over and revamped it nearly two years ago. You can hit me up on discord (username in my profile) or by PM here (although I may be slower to respond), or you can just take it and run with it.

One of my favorite things about FR has always been the spirit of collaboration and innovation, so go forth and have fun!

Big thank yous to everyone who enjoyed this tool and everyone who supported and assisted my work on it. I had a blast, even when I was cursing and fighting google sheets lol

I've decided to go ahead and take over maintaining the sheet! I'm already maintaining a copy of the database for my own purposes at this point, so I figured I might as well. I hope you don't mind that I've lifted some information from your thread, but let me know if I need to make any changes!
