Jupiter comes from a line of distinguished soothsayers and diviners, born and raised in a clan of the greatest mystics of Water, and his greatest dream was looking forward to the day his own powers would awake and he could properly take his place among them.
They never did. He tried everything - extended fasts, daring quests, pilgrimages, even putting his life in danger - but found no success. His "failure" made it so unbearable to be around those gifted with unique Sight and ways of Knowing that he left his home to travel to a remote corner of the world, surrounded by practical dragons that didn't consider Foresight a basic necessity of life.
Little does he know that he does have a Gift. A small one, but extremely valuable nonetheless - his discomfort around those who were talented with divining and visions comes from an ability to detect those powers in another dragon. But because he's been looking so hard in the wrong places for his powers, he's completely missed it.

Minerva, Jupiter's mate and bodyguard, doesn't have a trace of mystic power in her body. But every dishonest merchant and traveling wanderer swears up and down that she can read minds or the future - how else could she possibly have known what they were thinking?
The notion amuses Minerva. She has a natural talent for reading body language and supplements that with a keen eye and study, nothing more. She makes a wonderful mock Fortune Teller for clan carnivals, and is willing to turn to entertainment to earn their keep as her mate hares off on yet another pilgrimage to a mystic expert.

Truthseeker cannot see the future or receive omens from the Gods and their servants. Her tongue renders her all but mute even to those experienced with Coatl. But she does know, instantly, the moment she hears a lie.
