i'm still getting these pop-up ads on mobile and now they're pro-trump and talk about "saving our country!" so the adblock is staying on pc and i'm not going on with mobile anymore. this used to be one of the only websites i had adblock off for. :/
i think it's wicked weird that there hasn't been a site-wide announcement describing how you're aware of the problem and are working on it. a little transparency from the team would be nice. your youngest users are barely teens--how many of them are clicking on these ads?

I just got this Trump ad as well and nearly clicked it because mobile lags in loading and jerks the page around. Very concerning!

Chrome (latest version, whatever it is) on Windows 10. I'm getting an "ads by wgx" that puts in a McAfee pop up in the upper right corner and then redirects to another page that tries to download things. This has happened every time I open a new FR page.

for real! and like...i assume that fr doesn't approve of these ads, but not addressing the nature of them to the entire community is pretty troubling imo. i'm gonna go out on a limb (judging from my own experiences) and say the majority of the users of this site are LGBT or allies, and it doesn't make me feel extremely welcome to be getting trump ads. how's it making high schoolers feel? never mind the pornography??
would just be nice if the team would come out and say something to denounce the nature of the pornographic/political ads and promise they're working on it. on the front page. because so far they've been pretty quiet about it.

I've been getting a "McAfee" ad which covers part of the page. More insidiously, when you click ANYWHERE on the page, not just on the ad, it redirects you to some mysterious website. In this case, it redirected me when I tried to click an answer for Tomo.

I've been on this site for 5 years and never had to use ad blocker before but I just had to turn it on to make the site playable.
