Cascade spends more time underwater than on land, exploring the depths of the seas with her fathomsearch ambassador familiar. She'd definitely fit into the category of honorary merdragon - she's got everything except gills and mermaid fins!
(Although... that's not to say she hasn't been looking into transformation magic. If she could, she [i]totally[/i] would.)

This is Zoye -- named loosely after some interpretation of King Midas' daughter's name. Her story is about as you may expect with that bare description. She once had a life -- a home, a family, a world of her own. Then she was touched and turned to gold. She felt nothing of herself, nothing of others, and became rather cold and hollow. She sunk to the bottom of the ocean and remained there. She surfaces occasionally and spends time in my lair.

Though Doram looks far less sea-soaked than Zoye, he was born more of a fish than she. He lived in an underwater cavern, and his people offered assistance to Zoye when she first sunk down below. It's always been his duty to guard her closely, and when she began surfacing more and more often to go to a certain lair, his curiosity got the better of him and he followed. Now he mostly stays on dry land, after having met his mate, Regina.

Last but not least is the... well, the [i]least[/i] mermaid-y of the bunch -- Taara. She's a god of thunder, sky, and ocean waves who left her galaxy with Alignak after getting into one too many arguments. She's included for obvious reasons, of course. Gods of sea water oughta have some sort of place among mermaids, right?
