I have returned with more pics~ Here are some of my pet/feeder inverts first: One of my dwarf white isopods Both my dubia and red runner roaches had babies! Here's a baby dubia with an adult female (linked because the image didn't want to work) and one of a baby red runner And back to wild inverts: Took this video of a Katydid on the other side of a window. They're pretty weird up close. I've finally been seeing Eastern Tent Caterpillars again. I love these guys, they're so cute and fuzzy. ;-; I also took a slow-mo video of one walking for some reason. lol Found a swarm of spiderlings on my porch a few weeks ago (sorry for the shakiness!). I believe they're black and yellow garden spiders (Argiope aurantia) as we had a female around last year. I thought we'd lost all her eggsacks (she laid three) so I was glad to see them! Lastly, I found the biggest snail I've seen around my house recently (though it's not big at all compared to snails in other places). He started rasping me after I held him for a bit, and it was a very bizarre sensation. It felt like being licked by the world's tiniest cat lol Here's a video of him doing it.

@Xionahri Wowowow! So many pictures recently! @Kodama that footage of the snail trying to 'bite' you was the cutest thing I saw all week:-) I've got one too today. I was reaching out for a towel and something ran out from underneath it. Scared Mather's Holy Flame out of me! Then I realized that's just one of my favourite creatures: A housefly! I think it's still kind of chilly for it since it was running not flying. I know I know, they're pests. But they have cute proboscis and they 'rub hands together'- also cute.

@ChocoMeow Has it also been snowing in your part of Germany a few weeks ago? I was concerned that is gonna impact the animals here a lot, but it seems nature has recovered well. Haven't seen many snails here so far. Would be nice seeing some. Feels like everything is firebugs around here. I need more variety. Also, snails tend to be easy to photograph, so that's a plus. @CyanDog Glad I could at least somewhat help. Good luck on your journey or critter identification. @Kodama Okay, first I want to say that the slow-mo caterpillar is seriously missing some dramatic music. Then that video would be the most perfect thing in this thread. It would've been such a great coincidence if that green katydid was the same species as the one CyanDog posted, but they look too differnt. So no further clue here. Hmm. That's a good snail. Yeah, cat tongues and snail mouths are weird. But now you know your hand is delicious. That's something. Thse are cute spiderlings. I found one too today, see below if you like. Give your pets a nice snack from me, okay? They deserve one. @Voronwis Yes. Flies are underappreciated. I love watching those tiny aliens (is it just me or do they look a bit Giger-esque up close?). Yeah, they may be considered pests, but I'm okay with having one or two around. Unless I'm trying to sleep and they make noise. How can such tiny animals make that much noise? And yup, sometimes you just come across flies that just can't be bothered to fly unless it's an emergency. It was probably resting, I'd say. @tomaytotomahto @Pixelspiral @Dragonfruiteen Surprise! No firebugs today. Just a tiny spiderling. It's hard to tell from the pic, but it's a young orb weaver.

We didn`t have real snow but we did have snowy rain. And yes, I was worried about the animals, too, especially the little ones and all the ones that have recently awoken from hibernating. I was very relieved when I saw that we did not end up getting real snow and the weather got much warmer again. And now I think we`re through with the cold and spring is here for good. I have so far seen a couple of grove snails and I think that they are the first ones to come out, too. The ones I keep as pets have also awoken earlier than the others (Helix Pomatia). Guess they`re early birds. [emoji=coatl laughing] If you`d like to see some snails I recommend checking in places where there is a lot of ivy and leafy trees (snails tend to not like places with lot`s of conifers), or where there are lots of nettles. Oh and we have tons of firebugs here as well. I love them, they`re so pretty! As for some pics: One of my grove snails when she (I call her her, because it suits her) was young. By now she has children of her own. Will be taking pics of them later on. And this is one of my Caracolus excellence when he was still young. Yes, they are both older pics because I am extremely lazy when it comes to uploading pics. Need to change that. And this is one of my Helix Pomatia. It`s the wife of the one that I posted the first pictures of.

@Kodama
Hey!! Do you have any tips for breeding red runners? Mine have produced only a couple ooths so far and both have that shrivelled up look, not sure what's causing it.

THE ILLNESS WILL BRING YOU PEACE.
SERENITY IS BORN FROM CERTAINTY AND YOUR SUFFERING IS CERTAIN.
@Nekron - Hey! c: I'm unfortunately not super experienced with breeding them yet (I bought the adults in...mid-February?), but I would check your heat and humidity. They breed better at higher temps (85-90F, I would say high 70s at minimum) so I have both of my roach colonies on either side of a heater. The ootheca also need some humidity, so I would mist down the enclosure every so often or add something like damp sphagnum moss. The ootheca that I hatched were in a separate container from the adults (though that's not necessary) with some coco fiber and damp moss in the mid-80s. I hope that helps, feel free to ask any more questions. :)

This is a Leaf Curling Spider, they take leaves from the ground, make sure there curled up nice and tight using their web to stick it together and then they stick it in their web. They hide inside most of the time so predators like birds can't nab them off their web. I saw quite a few today but the vibrations from my feet made them retreat back inside before I could snap a pic. This was the only one with it's legs still sticking out. One of the Leaf Curling spiders I found at work last year had rolled up a bit off torn off magazine to hide in. This is a millipede I found in my Jacaranda Tree A Green-Head Ant expanding or clearing out it's nest. Usually just reffered to as Green Ants in Australia, they're everywhere in every backyard and park. A tiny leafhopper I managed to spot today, it's so adorable! I love leafhoppers Cockroaches! A biggun and a littlie. This one's a Flat cockroach, also called a Trilobite Cockroach

@tomaytotomahto @Pixelspiral @Dragonfruiteen A wet european honey bee drone. Wasn't able to fly for a moment, because wet, so I could take some good pics of him. This one is the best, I think. Bonus: He was very chill with being on my hand too. Also, mystery winged critter walking around. Sawfly perhaps?
