From my experience, the flight specific forums are much more quiet than the forums open to all players. My first flight, Lightning, was pretty good about answering on flight forums, but the flight I'm in now, Earth, is pretty slow. That's not to say people don't care though! People usually just don't check there all too often! Flights are used less for communication and more for organizing Dominance, at least the ones I've been in.
I've heard Wind, Shadow, and Arcane are faster, but don't take my word for it, I've never been in any of them personally^ I'd recommend jumping on the general forums if you want to interact with the userbase!
As for questions, if you think I could help you feel free to ask me anytime! If it's something Plague specific, I'd head over to the help center and see if anybody knows!

@AlmightyAmu thank you, I'm just trying to figure out what I'm doing wrong. I want to earn my own keep, be an active member....but the battle ground is where it seems I am supposed to earn most of my stuff..... but every time I try and fight, I am orderly destroyed....i don't even stand a chance... is there other ways to make the dragon stronger before I'm supposed to go there? Like a gym for dragons?

The coliseum is very difficult to start out in and I'd recommend doing something different at first in all honesty. Until you get a dragon all the way up to level 25, which takes a ton of time using the fastest leveling methods, the coliseum really wont make you much money. There is no way to train dragons up before the coliseum, but plenty of people who already have level 25 dragons often sell them in the auction house or offer to train dragons for other players!
To get the money to buy a level 25 or have one of your own leveled for you, I'd head over to the fairgrounds and play the game called Glimmer and Gloom. It's a puzzle game, but theres a trick to solving all of the puzzles which, one you get used to it, lets you earn your 75,000 treasure per day in less than 30 minutes! Level 25s or leveling services usually cost anywhere from 200,000-300,000 treasure, so if you get your 75kt every day for 4 days, you can get your first level 25! The guide to Glimmer and Gloom is right Here! This is, in my opinion, the least time consuming way to save up in this game!
Once you have your level 25, unfortunately you have another super expensive purchase to make,,, There's a battlestone called Eliminate that's nearly required to make a lot of money in the coliseum and it costs about 600,000 treasure,,, In the meantime, you can use This build for your dragon which doesn't require Eliminate, but it's slower. Once you save up for your Eliminate using Glimmer and Gloom, I'd look at some of the builds linked in This guide! That guide also has a lot of good beginner information, which I'd check out!
The silver lining in all of this is that you only really need to do it once; once you get your first level 25 with Eliminate, that's the only one you'll ever really need if you stat them as a Mire Flyer^

The fairgrounds games are good for earning treasure. Glimmer & Gloom is the quickest for earning and there are guides to help you solve it quickly (I average about 1600 treasure every 12 seconds on hard mode generally so it's pretty handy)
Also I'm biased but Arcane is pretty active ;) but like AlmightyAmu said it's the norm for flight forums to be less active than main forums
