The winds sang through the trees, branches whistling and leaves swaying. The sun rose slowly over the horizon, painting the sky with an array of orange, reds, and pinks. The air held such a peace, tranquility, that it almost seems like a dream. It was surreal.
Chime was slowly making his way up the path, his head hung low and his wings limp. His tail was dragged across the ground, not that he cared. His heart felt heavy, weighed down, with the guilty and anxiety of something he didn't really know. He was making his way towards the cliffside, hoping he was early enough so that there weren't many people.
His eyes wandered around the area when he had arrived, stopping when he saw a lone figure resting underneath a tree. It was a brilliant blue pearlcatcher, reading quite a thick book. From the looks of it, they were male, and they had a sense of calmness that eased Chime’s nerves.
“Hello there. Mind if I join you?”
It seemed that his voice startled the poor fella, the pearlcatcher jumping what seemed five feet in the air. When his eyes landed on Chime, he gave a gentle smile in hopes of easing his nerves, though it seemed to just make things worse.
“O-oh… um... Go a-head. Nobody's here to occupy it a-anyways.”
Chime gave a light laugh at his stuttering, he found endearing, and quite cute. He made his way towards the other dragon, his eyes holding a gentle look and a kind gaze. He used to be like that, nervous and unsure, so he was trying his best to make him feel safe.
Radinen watched as the guardian sat beside him, the look in his eyes putting him at ease. Most would just simply avoid him seeing it a hassle to deal with his personality, at least he assumed. The dragon shifted his body to get more comfortable, moving in front of the dragon.
“My name is Radinen, what might yours be?”
“The names Chime, and it is a pleasure to….”
His voice trailed off as he gazed at the pearlcatcher, his mind simply forgetting what to say. Radinen’s scales radiated the sunlight from behind him, casting a simmering glow similar to a crystal. The pastel pinks and reds contrasted with his own coloring, something that might not sound beautiful but is. But what made him lose his breath was the sun, casting its rays just above his head making it look like he had a halo. Without his knowing, Chime spoke his thoughts, watching the pearlcatcher’s face ignite into a blush.
“You look marvelous, even more so than that... Like a phoenix from the sea…”
“W-what?”

She is actually rather curt and stoic around strangers, but around other actors and friends she takes on a more laid-back mask. She would never really confront a crush or feelings as she thinks she isn't the best dragon around to have a relationship with, what with becoming immortal and working under a deity.
