Try some layering tricks perhaps? Layer the mantle over the hood. Though nothing will save the colors mismatching. Cowls have old art, plus one is a downtime item that needs a "once dyed" version that costs as much as the other mantles or can be brewed.

Man that stinks. Well, if you still want him to have a hood, perhaps instead of the cowl you could go for [item=Contrast Rogue Hood] ? It doesn't change the eyes, but looks a bit better.
