"Our home should be turned inside-out, and lava should churn violently across its surface.
Through me, it could rival the Sun itself in brightness and energy," spoke the Flamecaller. |

My entry~ (I hope it's not too complicated. x.x)
Coleus Gecko (or whatever, I am terrible at naming things. XD)

My first time doing something like this! This fall gecko is very colorful to blend into a tree changing colors in autumn. They are quite solitary, but they hibernate in burrows together in the winter to stay warm. In the spring, females turn pastel pink like sakura cherry blossoms.

My Submission for the contest:
False Headed Purple Piper (Silly Name)

This Gecko takes the coloring of deadly Corpsemaker Ivy in an attempt to fool predators that it isn't for eating, but should that fail, it has a false head pattern on its tail that it wiggles when in danger. It's far easier to grow back a regenerative tail rather than survive a broken leg or worse.

Name: One-Hundred Step Cockatrice
Description: Locals say that if a dragon meets this creature's gaze they can only take one hundred steps before they turn to stone.
I based this entry after the Malaysian Coral Snake (Calliophis bivirgata). This species is native to Brunei, Burma, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand and is highly venomous.

King Cockatrice
Unlike its cousin, the Coral Cockatrice, this specimen’s gaze is harmless.
