@RedfeatherOutlaw - Ah, that's frustrating. :( The nearest rat breeder here is five hours away so I know how that is. Most breeders won't adopt out single rats unless you can prove you have at least one other at home of the same gender, though. Maybe look for another breeder? You can also check shelters; they usually have "normal" small animals like rabbits and guinea pigs but they get rats too. You might also be able to find a small animal rescue.

@RedfeatherOutlaw - Ohh I see. If you can find one, a professional breeder is your best bet for a healthy, well socialized rat. But like I said shelters and rescue groups are really great options too. :)

I have 5 cats. Sterling is blue-gray (As his name suggests), a jerk, and will make THE STINKIEST POOPS EVER if he is fed grain. Missy (and all the cats after this) is an orange tabby, and the only one who will stay on my bed if I walk into my room. Jahzay is a fatal killing machine, Atijah makes extremely loud and high-pitched meows, and Orange is a cute dumb sweetie who seems to be afraid of his food.

Missy (and all the cats after this) is an orange tabby, and the only one who will stay on my bed if I walk into my room. Jahzay is a fatal killing machine, Atijah makes extremely loud and high-pitched meows, and Orange is a cute dumb sweetie who seems to be afraid of his food.

I have two cats, a dog, two rabbits and three lizards. We used to have a tarantula and a scorpion, but they unfortunately died of old age. This is Little Miss (Missy), who we didn't name, but I like to balance bowls on her head apparently. When I lived with my parents I had 6 cats, so sadly when I moved into my flat it felt so empty :( We're not really allowed pets up here, but I have 2 lovely rat girlies (shhh...)

This is Peanut, she's lovely! Rats make great pets and I would recommend them to anyone.
