South Side - Festival

Dray turned to answer the question from the armored valkyrie behind him, "More or less. This is the Festival of the Sun, signifying not only that the daytime will stretch out longer but also to serve as a kind of celebration for the food and mirth the sunlight brings." He was very informative, but continued on in a babbling manner, "Thousands of people across the land come here to partake in the feasts and the games but it only lasts for three days, this being the first."

Cael scoffed a little at him, 'What a dork.' But she returned back to the flowers, "Oh I'd love to get some flowers, but I need to get some money first." She pouted like a child but said, "I will absolutely return for some though!" As the bouquet was handed to Freya she bubbled, "Oh gosh those are just gorgeous! The purple nightshade and the yellow sunflowers just contrast each other so well!"

Dray gave a smile to Freya with a wave and asked, "Have you been enjoying the festival so far? It has only just begun but it's already so bustling."
Cael chirped to Freya, "Do you know of anything else neat to look at or do today?"

if I did the math correctly.... I'm an art student I don't math.....
Maraxel's lips curved into a gentle smile, and her eyes observed the stranger some more. She could make several guesses what was going on with the map, but she felt charitable. From heart she cared quite bit for the mer-folk, for many reasons - under her sleeve she fiddled with her pockets.

- "You've come to Trilian. And chosen a perfect time, because the city is now filled with festivities... Welcome." The mermaid in question had some quite chilling looks about her: like those stories of deep-sea monsters, with a translucent, white skin and dark eyes. But the mer-folk were diverse by her knowledge. She had never seen someone like this before, this stranger was beautiful nonetheless.

She straightened up from her bow of humility and respect. "No need to worry, I shall not call attention to this. Here." Suddenly, her arm whisks a small pouch towards the mermaid - one that looks like an old leathery money-pouch. "...Or honestly... It's not like I saw anything, but it was an assumption I made. You'll find a card and something to use to spend on inside. Make it worth your while." This time, her expression turned slightly cheeky: "I have a couple questions though. But yes, now is the festival of the Sun. The festival loved by most of the land-dwelling races. I recommend looking up and asking about. But I could share some things if you'd like - then I shan't bother you any further."

Under her sleeve, her fingers were transparent. She was controlling the sounds in the environment in secrecy, so the sound only traveled back and forth in between her and the stranger. Her brows rose a little when at the other side of the alley, she saw a person waving at them from the opening - a naga. Judging from their size, she could make a wild guess who it was.

And in the pouch with the few gold and silver, there was a card with a symbol, which would lead anybody easily to where she was. It depicted serpents coiling around the moon, which was in turn, surrounded with flowers resembling three different coloured hydrangeas. A letter "M" was pressed on top of it.

In her head, she sort of wished not to be in an alleyway. It was dark, slightly damp, despite the sun reflecting on many surfaces, and the very open layout of the city to accommodate to many species. Even the brightest city has it's dark corners.

She was oblivious of the other observer, but her instinct always chooses to make things private. Even if a Dragon Guard was tailing them.

(Yesss, there we go. @Tteok your turn!
also @Niabi the map still takes some time. It's been a way longer process than I've expected but I do hope the end product is something you like :'D)

Sylvia watched as the man disappeared into the crowd, leaving her sight before she could even draw her wand. She had to bite her tongue to keep from cursing, her fists clenched at her sides. "Little girl? How dare he?!" she thought, slamming the potion down on the stall counter.

Fuming, she tapped the bottle with her wand and levitated it back to its shelf before turning back to the crowd. She'd find someone better than that lout, someone with enough money to buy out her whole stock! However, nobody stood out this time, forcing her to settle for old-fashioned mongering tactics.

Holding her wand up to her lips, she cast a small magnification charm to make her voice carry farther. "Potions! Potions galore! Freshly brewed with authentic fairy-grown ingredients! Best prices in the South Side!" she called out, repeating the pitch a couple of times to make sure she got the message past.
______

Marie's attention was drawn by a rather high-pitched squeak from another Valkyrie at the stand who seemed to be quite startled by her presence. Giving the girl a once-over, Marie was more fascinated than flabberghasted at her sparse attire. "Goodness, so that's how Ismalan (Ismalian?) Valkyrie dress..." she murmured, glancing down at her own heavy armor. Clearing her throat, a tad bashful, Marie reached up and carefully removed her helm, hoping it would help her blend in more.

Marie turned back to the man as he began detailing the purpose of the festival, listening intently. "Thank you, good sir." she said, looking about with renewed interest. "You Ismalans have the most wonderful traditions." Grinning, Marie stood back and decided to remain there to watch the people pass, soaking in the cheery festival mood.

Tigon sighed inwardly. This woman was choosing to be rather annoying and overestimating her own abilities. Clearly she’d never met a true blooded demon before. Had he been anyone else, he might have just ended her there, but he wasn’t in Cartok right now, he was in Ismala. And apparently Ismalan social norms did not smile upon turning annoying people into ash. Taking in the woman’s scantily clad appearance, he had to wonder if she was some form of escort.
“As I said, I am busy. Go find another for your schemes. I have no need for anything you have to offer.” He didn’t bother looking at her as she spoke, his long strides carrying him closer to the herb shop until he spotted a woman exiting. Well this wouldn’t do. He couldn’t have her seeing him this early on. So he took a sharp left towards an empty alleyway. He could very easily take care of two birds with one stone once there anyway. As much as he hoped the annoying woman wouldn’t follow him, he knew she probably would, if only out of spite. He would need to act quickly if he wished to be rid of this nuisance and get back on track for his mission. Her display of demonic fire did little to intimidate him. After all, the black fire of half-bloods was hardly as potent as the true thing. Still, he would rather not waste his time with unnecessary fighting while in the capitol of Ismala.

(Sorry for replying so late -.-”, I’m doing a little traveling and just found some WiFi. @WillowtheWisp)

Mora blushed as she got the tail end of what the other Valkyrie. “It’s not so much a style choice as it get’s too hot in the warmer months.” she said. Then she turned to the girl and smiled, “Oh no, don’t worry about it! It’s the beginning of the festival and I could spare a few. You can pick whichever one you like dear!” She peered around anxiously afterwards though. Not knowing where Able was, that was a recipe for disaster. Not to mention the fact that he has to sing in a few hours. And an angry band of minstrels was definitely not something she wanted to deal with.

“I’m sorry if I’m a little distracted, I can’t find my rather large friend.” Mora sighed and shook her head. She was starting to get more than a little anxious about it.

Able wound through the streets before deciding it’d be best to take his other form. There were too many people flooding the streets, and he didn’t want to crush any of them. So he reached the sash on his legs and pulled out the lightweight trousers. Able motioned for the kids to climb off to he go sneak to a corner and change.

Freya grinned fondly at Cael for her unquenchable enthusiasm. "Yeah, sunflowers are my favorite."
She smiled in thanks at the flower lady for her generosity and tucked the bouquet in her bag, the heads of the blooms still poking upright brightly.
"Thank you so much," she said warmly, bluebell eyes bright, and turned back to catch the affectionate look Cael shot her brother.
Freya grinned.
It wasn't like she didn't know why. Dray could get pretty...in-depth, about stuff.
A trace of an amused smile winding its way onto her face, she replied with an eager grin, "I actually only just got here. I used to come here as a child though, so-" she added, turning to Cael, grin growing wider. "I know there's supposed to be a fire show eventually."
She thought for a minute, shifting her weight to one hip, and elaborated, "It's like they're doing tricks and- and, uh...dancing with the fire..."
She suddenly realized with a splash of heat in her cheeks that the suggestion was pretty childish. And also could have been explained better.
'Dancing with the fire'?
Suppressing a wince and attempting to remind herself yet again she was no longer in her sheltered household, and at the same time clinging to the fact that Cael and Dray were her friends and...probably understood?
Well, she was fairly sure Cael did, just judging on her past experiences with her as well as her wide-eyed enthusiasm over a bouquet of flowers.
She hoped.
And Dray grew up with Cael right? He'd probably be used to this by now.
Or maybe he was exasperated at having to deal with two hyperactive girls at once.

Geez, where is all this coming from?
Hastily pushing her sudden onslaught of insecurity down deep to be dealt with later- or never-, she hastily added, words stumbling over themselves slightly, red pushing to the forefront of her cheeks, "Uh, or there's the map stand-"
Nope.
Still dorky.
"-or just exploring the festival or, uh..."
What was wrong with her?
Probably the heat. Maybe?
She was pulling a blank for things to do.
For goodness sake, get yourself together, girl.
"...something else..."

She blinked large blue eyes misted over with confusion and smiled slightly at the new person Dray had been talking to earlier and attempted to understand what the heck just happened.
And distract everyone from thinking there was something wrong with her.
"Er, hi," she offered, regaining her composure with difficulty.

Hyli

Curiosity poked at Hyli as the serpent woman fiddled around in her pockets. A slight smile caressed her face , and for the first time she felt at ease around a stranger. The little mer listened intently at her words. "A festival? No wonder everything seems...bright. Thank you. That was what I were trying to grasp."
Then the serpent woman tossed her a leather pouch. "Oh - Um , thank you. You are very kind." Hyli's face turned a light shade of pink. "Yes , your assumption is correct. I live just over there , underneath that dock. I do not know of the shops around here , and therefore haven't had a chance to pick up some new attire. I see gaurds around , and they are a little frightening."
She moved a piece of hair out of her face , wondering why a card would be included. Festival of the Sun? Sounded similar to a gathering the MerFolk would have. The Sun nourishes the coral , the coral provides homes for fish , and fish sustain the mer people , so something similar must be here happening here. " Does the Sun sustain the land people?" Hyli thought. "Ask away!" Hyli said , clearly anticipating what may come next. " I would also be delighted to learn more. It would give me a opportunity to get out of the alleyways. And no worries , you have not been or are bothering me. You are a kind soul , and I enjoy the company". Hyli smiled.
