Nef sighed at their indirect refusals; all of this meant more effort for him later on. Due to the much reduced height of the young wolf girl, he would have to aim well in order to grab her. He could also aim for the boy, but something told him aiming for her would be the better option, if he could secure her then the boy might come back to try and rescue her. He did seem the chivalrous type, after all. "If that's the way you wish to play it, then bring it on." Nef mused, hoping to dispirit the youngsters. Something told him it was unlikely to work, but if it delayed them for a couple seconds longer it would give him the time he needed to move first.

Suddenly the little wolf burst forth, directly towards him at that. Nef was rather dubious at the chosen course; she was taking a huge risk to run directly past him after all. But he need not get over confident, if he misjudged his distances she could get past him and out into the park. The same was also true for the boy; she would keep his claws busy so he could only rely on his tail to either trip of snag the boy. His reptilian tail was far less mobile than his hands, but it was still vicious and manoeuvrable enough to prove useful.

Nef leapt forward, extending his claws outwards towards the wolf. Soft fur met his fingers as he attempted to embrace the petite form, in the swiftness of the movement he was unsure if he had proven successful in latching on to his target.

Her course set, blood pumping, heart racing, she could feel the wind upon her face, coursing through her pelt as she zipped past him. Time seemed to slow down as their paths crossed, a feeling of success rising within the lass as she passed, thinking this was it. She was home free.

Or so she thought...

Just after Locket managed to pass him, just as her worries began to melt, sharp pain emitting from her sides, like daggers sinking into her skin, and ripping down her flanks. The wolf let out a shrill cry, collapsing to the ground, her body rolling through the dirt with her momentum.

Caramel brown fur stained a dark crimson upon her sides, the little enigma struggled upon the ground to heave herself up once more upon her tiny paws, limbs shaking with effort... And fear. Locket attempted to move forward again, but merely stumbled forward pitifully, again and again as she continued a futile struggle helplessly until finally, she fell one last time, sides heaving. It seemed she was frozen with her own fear, eyes wide and frantic as she lay upon her stomach, tears welling within her eyes. Gaze shifting towards the one whom had hindered her escape, the wolf's ears dropped and her tail curled defensively, as Locket tried to struggle to her paws once more, vocals actually emitting from the little enigma for once. "N-nn-n-nnnn-n-n-n-!" A soft stuttering and confused voice that presented an off tone, revealing the difficulty speaking presented the girl as she tried to say 'no'.

Senju looked up as Alicia came down stairs. She seemed in good spirits as she flew in and perched on the moose head before noticing his purloined reading material.

"Whatcha got there? A newspaper? Where'd you swipe this from? Lemme see!"

Senju laughed as she jumped on his head and tried to peer over him at the paper. "Silly owl, newspapers are for people!" He said, pretending to swat her off his head with a section of the newspaper. "Besides, where's my breakfast?" He teased her. "You wouldn't let a poor fox starve, would you?"

"Say yes. We might get some peace and quiet." Ariel chimed in drily. Senju did his best to look outraged, though it was hard to look serious when you had a barn owl balancing on your head.

Flare and Kyren wandered in shortly afterwards, both showing interest in the paper as well. Turning back a few pages and marking his spot, Senju picked up another section and glanced over it. "Well, not much that affects us is going on really. The only two things I found were buried towards the back." He commented, indicating to a story on the third to last page of the A section. "Its about Sylvern, but what caught my attention is that it talks about that destroyed facility in Lovale. They apparently finished rebuilding it a few months ago and its back in operation. But the article itself mostly talks about Sylvern working to produce a few new products. A... shampoo - thats not animal tested and looks like some more baby products." Senju said, his tone showing boredom over the last bit.

Ariel arched a brow. "They rebuilt that facility and are using it again?" She did not like the sound of that. The thought of the research lab at Lovale being up and operational again made her feel borderline nauseated. Suddenly, her coffee didn't seem as appealing. Senju didn't look thrilled either.

"I'm quite interested in what they aren't saying as well, but you know Sylvern. Everything is a freaking secret." He said, his tone now sounding annoyed. He picked up a different section of the paper and unfolded it to a different page. "But I think the real news all of you will be interested in is this one. Its quite cleverly written, if you know how to read between the lines anyway." He said with a snort. Smoothing out the paper, he skimmed the article again. "The article is written by a reporter who claims to have spent some time with the Vijaro trying to smooth out relations with some other advocacy group for activists that are protesting Vijaro's "supposed" involvement in some of those attacks against lobbyists in Washington that oppose minority rights groups. That's a whole other really long story, but that's not what got my attention about this article. What got my attention is the fact that one of the questions this reporter was asking about had to do with the rumor that a Vijaro agent was working undercover at the Research facility in another state. The Vijaro representative's answer was politically correct of course. Denying everything as usual, but he did mention that Vijaro runs several stores across the USA legally and that they are an independently licensed, owned and operated company... blah blah blah and they were happy to announce they were expanding their number of locations significantly this year." Senju put down the paper and glanced around the room to see if anyone was following where on earth he was going yet.

"The Vijaro do have several stores in this state. And we know that they know we exist and that they're looking for us. I found out they have a store... in Huntington." He said, watching everyone's reaction. Ariel was the first to comment.

"Well, that's not exactly news, Senju. Most of us knew that. They only run it during winter when trappers and hunters are in this region, and they leave come spring." She said, wondering why on earth Senju was making a big deal out of that.

Senju nodded slowly. "Yes, but did you notice they were still open?" Ariel didn't reply, but the look on her face said she'd noticed and was finding that a bit odd, but not yet newsworthy in her opinion. Senju slowly tapped the article again. "They also said they were going to start extending some of their store locations hours of operation. Now that store may be closing a little late this year, but they may get orders to stay open. As far as we can tell, we haven't done anything to arouse any suspicion, but it means we need to be extremely careful." He replied as he closed the paper and set it down on the ottoman while picking up his cup of coffee and watching to see what everyone would think.

Kyren listened to every word Senju spoke intently. The Sylvern were back, that was enough to draw him in. He clenched his fists and felt his sharp, claw-like fingernails dig into his palm. Why did these people enjoy making others like him suffer? That alone was reason enough for him to want to go and blow the place up again. The only issue with that was that if he did blow up the place, he'd probably be hunted down and killed. That wouldn't be good for his health.

Senju then started talking about other things; about this strange group. 'The Vijaro,' huh? This was the first time he had ever heard of this odd group. Were they some political group or something? "Vijaro?" he asked Ariel, wanting to get answers. What was this shop thing Senju and Alicia were talking about? Questions flooded the large man's mind.

He looked down and realized that a trickle of blood was running down his hands. He quickly released his grip on his own hands.

Litahndrah moved quietly into the living area where many seemed to be relaxing. It seemed to be an all around nice morning. In her hand she held a small basket full of fresh strawberries. She glanced around, not saying anything for the time being. She merely surveyed the interactions of those she had come to see as her family. Soon enough Senju started to speak of the goings on outside their little sanctuary. Ah he had procured a paper, how nice. It was good to keep up on what was going on afterall. She glanced between them all, a slight tremor running through her. The Vijaro... They were bad news to be sure.

She finally stepped further into the room once Senju was finished speaking of the news. "Morning all... Exciting things happening meant to make us all run and hide again? Anyone want some fresh strawberries?" She smiled warmy showing that she wasn't entirely worried... Yet.

She took a ripe looking berry and took a little bite from it before moving lithely over to take a seat on a comfy looking armchair. Litah looked the very picture of ease, and yet if one really searched the deer girl's eyes, they would find fear. She feared for her little family... She feared for their kind as a whole. There was evil everywhere and she needed to look after them. Litah's job in protection was usually only morale as her size limited her physical protection abilities. But everyone had their place sure enough, even her.

Come ride the winds with me!
They'll take you where you've never been.
"The Vijaro is getting awfully bold lately," Alicia commented, not entirely worried, "And Sylvern is rebuilding? That could be bad news." She hopped off of Senju's head and onto his knee, talons digging into the skin a bit. "If the fox wants food, the fox should be smart enough to catch it." She said with a laugh.

When Litah came in, Alicia spread out a wind in a form of wave. "Hey Litah! Where'd you find those?" In this form, Alicia wasn't very interested in berries, but her human side was eyeing them hungrily. She'd never been very good at finding fruits, only rats and mice. Not that they weren't good. Alicia realized she was very hungry.

As she bolted forward Gizmo got ready to run but instead his eyes opened wide in shock as the vile reptilian man dug his claws into her. As the little brown wolf fell to the ground he cried out "noooo!" Seeing the crimson liquid upon her fur struck a nerve inside him and Gizmo fell to the ground as his enigma forced its way out. The slightly large wolf stood on his pillars and with murderous eyes he glanced to the clawed villain in front of him and murmured "weren't you ever taught to never hurt a lady?!"

Taking a step forward Gizmo let out a loud growl and showed his teeth slightly. Saliva dripped from his mouth as he kept on and began edging forward. His paws dug into the earth as he held himself back from attack and then he glanced to the poor little girl as she tried to stammer out the word 'no'. Something about this little lass made him want to protect her, maybe it was her small size or just the fact she was so shy but Gizmo had decided he would protect her. Looking back to the reptile man all his fur stood on edge as he looked over his vile complexion. It's not that he looked bad for say but Gizmo had always hated the scaly critters. He shuttered as thoughts of snakes ran through his mind. Perking his ears Gizmo let one last warning growl out before he snapped his jaw to get the mans attention, the loud click of his his teeth hitting together rang through his skull for a second. "All I can say, no ask is why?" He asked in a deep raspy tone.

Nef grinned with glee as he felt his claws catch the skin of the small wolf; the smell of the blood teased his nostrils. He held the claws up in front of his face, admiring the crimson liquid as it ran down the pitch black blades. The boy had yet again taken the bait, opting to stand and fight opposed to running. Everything was going as he hoped so far; he had little doubt that one angry boy wolf would be unable mess it up. "I warned you about the hard way, neither of you kiddies listed." He teased the boy; it would be a fun game to anger him further. Those that were angry rarely fought well, not that he needed much advantage here. "The only ones you have to blame is yourselves." Nef continued, readying himself for yet another leap if he needed it. At least with the girl's wounds, she'd be unable to get far from him. The smell of the blood would make it impossible to her to hide from him anyway.

He noted the saliva with some amusement and disgust, he did not know much about the boy's enigma but from what he was seeing it was an over fluffed, drooling mutt. Sure it had teeth, but so did he, with he made a point of by returning the teeth bearing. From the fact he had turned into a full animal opposed to a mix and match like him, Nef assumed that the boy lacked full control over his power. Such a thing was an advantage for him, having full control was so much more efficient.

Snapping his tail at the boy’s furred ankles, Nef awaited his response.

Flare gradually sipped at her coffee while Senju read out the news, the return of the Sylvern was certainly bad news but something about the Vijaro had always perked her interest. She had chosen not to pursue them once everyone had escaped the facility, though she couldn’t deny she had considered it. Since then, she had come across the others and had been tending to them, so she couldn’t think about looking deeper into the Vijaro. The one thing Flare would not to intentionally was betray those at the lodge, regardless of her more personal interests. One such thing being potentially finding a way of reducing the detrimental factor of her enigma, those around her were lucky in having land or sky based animals and often could go blind to her excessive water requirement. Not that she vocally made it obvious, although it was probably sometimes obvious from her varied behaviour.

With a sigh she glanced down, her coffee cup was now empty. “We’ll have to be wary of our actions.” Flare piqued up, noticing the other’s now dulled moods. “Saying that, we shouldn’t live in fear.” She mused, grabbing a strawberry from Litah’s basket and biting into the soft flesh of the fruit. The sweet yet watery fruit was something she enjoyed, and any other finds that the girl brought home with her. “If we allow fear to grip us, then we risk giving ourselves away, more so for those of you who can’t completely control their transformations.” The woman ran a hand through her fiery hair, she was coming over negative and yet positive at the same time. However someone had to be serious some of the time, though Flare often ended up having to be serious most of the time.

Gizmo's tail stood on edge as the creature began talking and returning the favor of teeth bearing. As the man snapped his tail at his paws he became enraged and a loud growl escaped his maw. Knowing that this form gave him an disadvantage he began thinking to himself 'if only I had full control I could transform no problem but as I'm not quite there yet I need to concentrate and hopefully ill be able to pull it off. I've done this only a couple of times and right now I hope I can do it again.' Gizmo looked to little she wolf and stood up on his hind pillars and whimpered slightly in pain as the transformation began.

As he stood there half man half wolf he looked to vile creature in front of him and said " I think I'll take my chances blaming you rather than us." He snapped his teeth together and snarled loudly at the reptilian. He flared his claws out and dug his feet into the ground and grinned slightly at his accomplishment. The fact that he's almost at full control gave him a slight accomplished feeling at his transformation. "If your gonna play with any one it might as well be me rather than the little lady." He said with murderous tone.

I have many pairs in my lair, want a baby, just look at my clan profile (list of pairs) and message me i'm sure we can work something out :) I'm flexible on price so don't worry...
Alicia nodded to Flare. "Yeah yeah stay on our toes, all those pleasantries." She laughed lightly and took a wing, landing on a chair next to an open window. There was almost always an open window, it made her and Kyle more comfortable that way. She ruffled her feathers back up and smoothed them back down, looking over her shoulder. Her head turned almost all the way around, which may have looked a bit creepy. There had been a few incidences where she had shifted back to human and forgotten she didn't have as much flexibility, resulting in a few minor neck injuries.

Right now Alicia was rather hyper from the excess amount of sleep she;d gotten, so she clicked her beak and said, "Well, I'm gonna go burn off some energy. I'll be back by dusk. Probably." The last word was laughed as she took silent flight out the window and into the warm air. She flew up high, high enough to see the town over the trees. Of course she flew immediately in that direction, gliding on thermals and enjoying the warm wind in her feathers and the general joy of flight. It wasn't long before she'd arrived over the town.

Alicia swooped lower over one of the parks, looking through the grass for anything she might catch. She might look a bit strange, a barn owl out at this hour, but there was a lot of wildlife around the town, and it was common to see predatory birds around. Most people wouldn't give her a second glance.

She saw a tiny movement and a flash of brown in the grass. A rat. A perfect breakfast for someone like her. In moments she'd swooped silently down and caught the pest in her talons, taking to the air again to find a place to eat it. There was a good spot nearby, a wooded park with lots of sturdy trees. She flew over and perched atop a tree, hopping down until she was under the leaf canopy on a nice, wide branch.

Before she could tear into her rat, however, a scuffle below her alerted her to the presence of three others. One, a large brown, weird looking dog. But the other two were freakier. There was a tall figure that looked like a 1980's werewolf, snarling at a man with the claws, eyes and tail of a large reptile. Ew. The dog, who looked more like a small wolf if one were to look closely, looked to be hurt, red streaks running down it's sides. Alicia's feathers fluffed up, but she made no move to interfere. Yet. Her rat forgotten, for now she listened, fine tuned ears hearing every word, breath, and whisper, right down to the little wolf's frightened panting.

@Ashkii @Sakurawr @Mudd @Wolfkitten @Galileo @Kirika ((Felt like jumping into some action, hope nobody minds! Alicia is rather.... impulsive xD))
