Lace immediately makes me think of the Victorian era, but this time period was also known as the Steampunk era (1837 - 1901). You typically only wore one and it was considered fashionable. Although it was more popular for ladies to wear a ring on each finger or a set like these:

Oh I know what they are based on XD I just happened to see the icon and immediately squealed like a two year old high on sugar because my brain was like 'TAIL NIB YES' and then I was only mildly disappointed when it was a tiny claw piece. Still an awesome set. Still could use a nice gold/brass tone set, just could use the addition of tail nibs as well <3
