I'd say the anime version of Umineko no nako na koru ni. The VN are great, the manga is good too but the anime is just bad. It screws up the characters, misses or mishandles important story details and just rushes the whole thing up. The big problem is that Umineko has a big mystery component and the anime cuts so much of it for the sake of gore :/

Elfen Lied. I had to watch it twice to get what was going on and I still didn't understand the plot. The only things I remember was there was a bunch of blood, nudity, a tsundere cousin and everyone was crying all the time.

I watched a bunch of episodes of Hetalia on netflix. Five minutes long and random as hell?
I just don't know why there's such a huge fandom? Are there more than five minute episodes out there, or..?

@ArcticBeauty14 They're short episodes because they're based off short comics. And I'm really not sure what the draw to the fandom is, but I imagine it's likely all the yaoi potential. Lots of hot dudes. I personally can't remember why I used to like it, because watching it now makes me cringe.
As for myself, anime I tried to watch and couldn't because they were dumb/boring/uninteresting: Gurren Lagan, Madoka, and some weird anime where the girls were all soda cans?? I dunno. I'm sure there's more, but those are what came to me off the top of my head.

A lot of people fell in love with the characters and rather like how random it can get, it's something you don't have to read 20 chapters of something to make sense of whatever is happening~ It's a fun little thing to occupy time as well, I personally like it because the characters are amusing, and it makes me laugh quite often. It brought my friend group pretty close together as well, so it has that going for it.

It brought my friend group pretty close together as well, so it has that going for it.

I'm gonna be honest I watched a couple of eps of Vampire Knight at my cousin's house and I couldn't take it seriously at all. For the same reason I can't take a lot of anime seriously. It's just so obviously made to be in your face kinky and appeal to a very specific crowd, and while that may be great for some people I just have no interest in watching an entire series that's basically softcore porn.
For one thing, it feels manipulative and talks down to the audience, as if the writer couldn't think of any way to tell a good story without weird, awkward fanservice and instead just went 'look! boobs!'
