You sure could breed your dragons to try and get more eggs, especially if you want to try and get more of one breed in your lair (For example, I have quite a few Daydream dragons that I bred myself
http://dragcave.net/user/Royai12), but much like FR, there IS a breeding cooldown for dragons.
As for trading, I wouldn't know. I'm more of a click and forget player, so I don't know how that works.
EDIT: I am the best at naming dragons. A few of those made my friend snort her drink once.
