Poinsettia is not only matriarch of the Carci clan, she's also the founder of the clan's illustrious and rather...unique library. She's curious about the world around her to no end, a philosopher at heart whose deep thoughts are often stymied by her shallow memory. It was because of this that she developed the Carchives (pronounced [i]kahr-kahyvs[/i]), a repository of knowledge organized in a manner only she comprehends where you'll find atlases catalogued by "personality", scrolls of mathematical proofs sorted by "tempo", and back issues of newspapers arranged by "taste" (with a sign reading "NO LICKING THE ARCHIVES!"). As puzzling as the Carchives can be to clan members and guests alike, they are at heart a precious part of both Poinsettia and the clan itself, and full of sound wisdom as well (provided you know what the info you're looking for "sounds like"). No matter how many generations are born to the clan, Poinsettia reaches out to the hatchlings, regardless of blood relation, and teaches them wisdom, kindness, and hope...she juuuuust needs a moment to look up what those words mean again, it's at the tip of her tongue...

Torch first met Poinsettia back when he was a down and out young Mirror without a lair to call home. He couldn't believe his luck when she not only gave him a place to stay, but asked him to be her mate and help found a clan. Torch quickly came to learn that's simply how she was--she didn't give a whit about his status or ulterior motives, she simply trusted her instincts and opened up to him. Since then, Torch has grown into the role of logistical leader of the Carci clan, overseeing daily matters such as food, chores, and morale (outside of the Carchives, that is). He and Poinsettia are no longer mates, but have since remained fast friends, leaning on each other as they work to ensure their extended family thrives.
Nowhere in the depths of the Carchives is it explained what the clan name "Carci" in fact signifies. A former acolyte of the clan theorized it may have something or other to do with crabs, but this has been all but debunked seeing as Poinsettia has never much cared for seafood.

With the move to Plague that scattered and decimated the Clan, she gave up her position to Sarafina, and has since moved to being the Clans Alchemist&Engineer. She's not much for having children of her own, though recently she had an interesting...fling (read, science vs magic, her being magic, him being science) and as such, has had a child join her by her side, for the first time. She drowns him with as much affection as possible, and he adores it as well.
She loves playing with runes, and testing ancient magic. She's wary of Baldwin, claiming him alchemy isn't alchemy - it's nonsense. She's made the journay from an all basic mirror to crystal/facet/spines Wildclaw.

This is my custom progen, Resheph. Everything about him came out perfectly and I was so excited when I saw he got a maroon tertiary. *O* Unfortunately I wasn't so impressed with my random breeder who I ended up exalting seeing that I'm not a HUGE fan of Faes... but now totally regret that.
I use him as currently as my primary breeder, with my girl Sanguine [s]and others[/s] where they have what I like to call my bloodbath babies. <3 He is the leader of my clan as it stands- teaching his true son Irra and his adopted son Negal what it is to serve as bringers of the plague. He is a fighter and though wise in the ways of the world itself- he isn't quite book smart-- but that's where his mate completes him- his beautiful blind love; who loves the eggs of his nests whether they're of he blood or not.

Narcissus was running through the brambled woods when he caught sight of a faint light dancing ahead of him. The light turned out to be a small fae flitting nimbly through the trees. He was captivated by her and followed her to a small clearing with a dark pond. Attempting to speak with the fae he was troubled and couldn't understand her speech well or her body language as she tried to convey her reciprocal love. Instead his eyes fell to the dark pond, the surface rippling as the fae beat her wings, the light from her dancing on his reflection and he could not look away. Some mingling of the fae's light and the pool's magic caught him there. And there he stood, and she stayed by his side until they both began to reflect the pool as deeply as it reflected them.

I had a lot of fun finding a story behind their gene development and I'm excited to do some more, although I don't really have a theme or over arching plan for my clan I just like finding dragons I like and finding them partners and now, writing their stories :)

LycraUndome is my custom progen; I haven't gened her up yet, but I've had some trouble deciding because, of course, she has to be PERFECT.
