Hello and welcome to Flight Rising!
Flight Rising can be really overwhelming at first, so no worries. You can always ask questions and will figure everything out eventually.
You can get dragons through a number of ways:
1. Breed your own dragons. This is the easiest way but will limit you to a certain range of colours and genes, depending on the parents. Here's a
little guide. It may not be entirely up to date but explains the basics well.
2. Buy dragons on the auction house. There you have a much wider range of dragons sold by different players. You can also search for specific breeds, genes, colours and so on. If you're looking for dragons to exalt (= remove from the game), this is probably the place to go.
3. Look through the forums! A lot of players have their own hatcheries or even made up subspecies (for example: Imperials with a certain set of genes and colours) and will sell dragons to other players. Depending on the hatchery, it can get quite expensive. If you're new, some people will give you a discount.
There are also a few threads where people give dragons away for free. Here is one you can check out:
Adopt-A-Dragon
If you take a dragon from one of those threads, it is generally seen as rude to exalt the dragon. So only take dragons that you intend on keeping.
4. Eggs! You've joined just in time for one of (if not)
the biggest events of the year:
Night of the Nocturne! Until Dec 31 you can find Strange Chests by doing all your daily activities. In these chests, you have the low chance (~8%) of finding unhatched nocturne eggs which you can hatch. The hatched dragon will only have basic genes but with gene scrolls you can change the dragon to your liking. You can also find elemental eggs while scavenging or in the coliseum but the chances for that are very low.
There's a ton of other things to do on the site but I think, if I start talking about all that, this post will turn into a novel. Since you probably also want to make some money, check out this
money making guide.
This is probably a lot of (incomplete) information and I'm sure other players will be able to explain things better but I hope you still learn a bit from my rambling. If you have more questions, feel free to ask around the forums. Everyone is really friendly around here ^^
