I bought an eliminate which I put on my l13 ridgeback. Things are fine when I've gotten enough breath, but until then, he seems to keep dying :/
TL;DR: How do I stop my ridgeback from dying while I'm collecting breath for eliminate?
@SebasChan How are your dragons statted? If you aren't already using it, Culex's guide may help you.
Otherwise, the first few turns are always the hardest when you're building breath. If you only have one dragon with eliminate and the venue seems hard, you may want to look into refreshing when the starting pack you run into seems too difficult for a first fight. Finding a nice easy starting fight can make a huge difference when you only have one eliminate fighter.

edit: also, put him second or third in your party. For most venues you'll need a Scratch+Eliminate to kill a monster so your Scratch only dragons should have a chance to do damage first so your Eliminate can finish them off.

He's statted all in STR with the rest in QCK. Has one ambush and I have another prepared for when he hits 15. And yes I do use that guide, but it really doesn't seem to help me. Maybe I'm just dumb. :u

@SebasChan
Rune is your fighter, right? His QCK is 9. If you're fighting in the Bamboo Falls, the QCK of the monsters ranges from 14 to 38. With Delta and Lysander also at 9 QCK this puts them at a severe disadvantage.
Check out Sylvandyr's monster stats mode here:

By L13, Culex's guide suggests 35 QCK. Being strong is not a defense if you never get a chance to use that STR before the monsters hit you. I'm guessing that you haven't added any might fragments or hybrid fragments; that's the only reason you should be out of stat points but still have the recommended STR.
At this point, you can either use a [item=tincture of dissolution] to reset stats or add the augment stones and go down a level or two in the coli to fight until you can raise your QCK. The first is more expensive and since cost is an issue when you're trying to afford your first set of Eliminates, I'd suggest picking up Obsidian Hybrid Fragments for Earth and Plague dragons (especially Plague, diseased might are expensive) and Glass Hybrid Fragments for your Ice dragon.
The boost to your stats will help until you get Berserkers and they're cheap enough so you won't feel bad when you overwrite them.
When you start in a venue with all health and no breath, take a look at the starting mob. If it's mostly casters or only 2 monsters, keep going. If it's 3 physical monsters or a pack of 4 (except the easy 4 pack in in the Sandswept Delta), reload the page and try again. Doing so before any attacks will not reduce your energy like fleeing does.
Hope this helps!

Glad I could help. The first team is always a struggle--so much that a lot of people never level up more. Keep at it and eventually the coli will reward you. :)
