Recently I've been super nostalgic for all the old mmo's geared toward kids- like club penguin! It makes me super sad that by their nature there's no real way to go back to them after flash is long dead and their original creators abandoned them :(
I spent a lot of time playing huge ones like club penguin and moshi monsters, as well as some smaller/ more obscure ones like bearville and little space heroes! What mmo's are you nostalgic for?

I played quite a few of these games; Animal Jam, Club Penguin, Monkey Quest (props if you remember that), some other game I don't remember the name of. There was this one MMO I used to play called "woogi world". Quite a few people went on it, but it wasn't as huge as club penguin. If I remember, my brother actually became a "cop/mod" or something, but Idk if he was just making that up.
But yeah, eventually people dwindled away and I mostly forgot about it. I went back one day, and there were only 3 people on the Alaska server, but otherwise it was dead. Vacant. Empty. There's something about seeing your favorite games suddenly turn into ghost towns that's just....sad in a way? Tragic?
Yeah, pretty sure the game's still dead to this day and it might have turned into something else.
Another one similar game was "Star86" I believe? It was like Woogi World but space themed and less educational (Woogi World mainly focused on internet safety and teaching kids how to behave online). You chose from 3 alien assets; they were all pretty cutesy. One I think was more blocky and another was in a small UFO (I remember the UFO one because my character was a pink UFO alien). You could also have your own space ship to design, although 90% of stuff was member stuff, but I remember visiting some other players' spaceships and they were crazy huge and had a lot of decoration. Another thing was the Solar System where each planet was mini games. One of the planets was a spooky world with a graveyard, mansion and forest that was basically a werewolf tag game. I don't remember what the other mini game planets were, but I remember having a lot of fun with the game. Like Woogi World, same fate; a community small, but large enough to have plenty of people to play with to becoming a ghost world. Eventually the site shut down and last time I tried to visit the domain, it got bought out and was turned into what I'm pretty sure was a NSFW website because they had all these pictures of girls in bras with this graphics-design-is-my-passion level layout.
Oddly enough about Star86, there was a thing about how it was based on Music, even though I don't remember using any music features at all or if there were any. Perhaps I must've been playing it from an earlier development, then? Either that or I just mainly focused on games and such. I believe it's also partial-lost media, because there's traces of it, but no exact clear sources and such besides some websites and accounts of the game.
(Hilariously enough, when I was writing this, some other classroom played this old 20s/30s music that felt strange with remembering all of this...)

Someone else remembers Star86?! I thought I was making it up since I never saw anyone else talk about it.

Nice to see someone else who remembers, too! My sister also used to play it as well. I'm curious to hear about your experience on it.

Another one: Fight My Monster. It was a "trading card" esque fighting game based off of chance. You could either make cards (you had to train them up yourself) or buy cards that were already powerful. I made one guy that was this cyclops rabbit so cleverly named "Challenge acept" (I know wonderful. Definitely should make a fan dragon for the sake of his legacy) that was my favorite guy...until I lost him in a match. I was very sad that day.
Oh, you could also play flash games on it as well to earn coins. My brother especially loved Fight My Monster, and I think someone was working on a remake, but Idk how the progress is on that one.

I don't remember too much from it, but I had a lot of fun exploring the different planets. I wish I could experience it again.

I loved PetPet Park! I loved playing the minigames and doing the quests to learn more about the world! I'd do anything to get that game back.

And that one as well....lol I remember the Madagascar movie crossover and you could see Alex the Lion at the zoo area. Oh, and the tiny world where you could see the leaf cutter ants, always thought that was cool!
Dude, I'm unlocking memories that were stuffed back in my subconsciousness since the 7th century
