I was scrolling through tumblr looking at various HK headcanons people had and one that stuck with me was that Vessels "speak" with the absence of sound, especially as they are void beings in part, and then someone else mentioned that whenever Ghost gets hit the background noise goes quiet and how that tied in to the headcanon. It's a fascinating concepts honestly. Same sort of thing as the idea that Pure Vessel didn't speak (because Vessels can't) but Ghost still felt their boss yell.
