Snake skeletons in general look pretty wild!

But personally my favorites are deer skulls (I got my antique one for 30 bucks or so, so not as bank breaking as others), and rodent skulls- theres something cool about seeing just how tiny their little heads can be.

ooooh i wish i could start a skull collection! i'm not obviously super macabre but oooooh i would love to have a wall of skulls because the rest of my house is normal and they would look wonderfully out of place.
i really like deer skulls, but that means i actually prefer gazelle/antelope skulls because they're super metal with the long twisty horns

Oof, hard to decide... But my personal favourites are probably foxes/coyotes/wolves (I don't think wolf skulls are legal - and if they are, they are probably very very expensive and hard to get...). Sadly I don't own one of those yet. But honestly, all skulls are cool xD Birds are just so fragile and detailed, cows and deer look very majestic, rabbits, rats and all the other tiny ones are super cute - I could go on xD

Check the laws in your state! I'm fairly sure wolves are protected species in most states though, so i don't think it's obtainable.
like @/Kerynean said before tho, replicas are a great option! but if you want a real skull, your best bet would be coyote (which are actually, super cheap) or a large 'wolfy' dog. obviously not the same, but large canids nonetheless

Have you ever seen an anteater skull
Have you ever seen an anteater skull

they haven't been kicking it for ~370 million years, but dunkleosteus has an awesome skull
A lot of pleistocene mammals have awesome skulls, some just plain weird

Arsinoitherium comes to mind, this era has a lot of really wacky herbivores, while, from what i've seen the carnivore classes have stayed (mostly) consistent

Another one is Gylptodont. I actually hate this animal. something about it just irks me. I hate how the skull looks but i just had to share.
Special mention for pleistocene megafauna - megaloceros, smilodon, and wooly rhinos!

For modern animals, i really like sea leopard skulls. And canid/felid skulls :)! i personally like carnivore mammal skulls over herbivore mammal skulls but you see much more diversity in the latter, which leads to some pretty crazy looking structures.
if you made it this far, thank you for listening to a stranger on the internet ramble about skulls. You're a real one

This. Seriously though anteater skulls are bizarre lmao. Also, I have a couple skulls of my own. So far I've found two raccoon skulls and a wren skull.

I like all kinds of stuff like this, but raccoons, snakes, and bears are my personal favorites:

Call me basic... but I love them.
