The most I can think of right now was with the school wifi Wolfram Alpha was blocked, so were a few websites for academic studies. Otherkin.net was also blocked for being "occult" which was kind of dumb (and also inconvenient since we did a few projects on otherkin).

I remember our whole AP Research class had to figure out how to get around the blocks because most of the stuff we needed for research was blocked (and of course it was our friend who was doing her project on cults who had to figure it out first).

Said friend who was doing research on cults was also the reason why heelies got banned at our school, fun fact

Both of my high schools had a rule that your teacher was allowed to take away your phone and send it to the office, and you'd have to pay 15 USD to get it back at the end of the day. This was made worse by the legality of phones being on a teacher by teacher basis: some teachers didn't care at all, some wouldn't take it away as long as you weren't obviously ignoring a lesson or cheating on a test, some would take it away if it went off in the middle of class, and there were a few teachers would take and send a phone away on sight--even if it was the end of class and everyone was just sitting around waiting for the bell.

I haven't been in school for 5-6 years now and looking back, it's honestly wild to think about. Sure, there are a few places where I can't or shouldn't use my phone, but even if I did in those situations the most likely punishment I'd get would be a verbal reprimand.

Well- I remember one time the school tried to block stuff on the school-given laptops while the kids were at school so they'd pay attention to the class. Y'know.. kinda fair enough.

Well it worked..

But it caused the poor teachers who didn't know technology at all hell since we actually used the laptops to work on. Youtube got mainly 99% blocked and even some educational videos they needed got blocked and they had to figure out some workaround.

Not to mention the blocking system somehow let flight rising in at first- then it got tagged under "Games" or something similar so it got blocked. I'm still low-key salty
Another one is how you can't really wear costumes during Halloween unless you were apart of a special club.

And y'know, it wasn't like you just can't wear masks or have sharp props or whatever (We already had those rules)- just couldn't wear costumes in general.

I think a few of us didn't care and still some-what dressed up, but just enough where it wasn't a "fully fledged costume" and more like a nicely themed outfit with a sprinkle of extra-ness, so we got away with it. I even think I had a wand with my outfit too since I was being a Ravenclaw student x'd

blanc Nice to meet you, loser! They call me Misfire. Long story. Actually, you know what? It isn't. It's a very short story involving a machine gun, a misunderstanding, and a dozen dead Decepticons. -1 fr time

Last year was the first year the high schoolers got school laptops. However, it seemed like YouTube was completely blocked. Whenever you go on YouTube, it would only show a blank screen. Nothing would pop up. The only way to bypass it was to go on Chrome and sign in to Google.

I forget what year this was, but at one point the school blocked this one site where you could play games (I think it was called MiniClips? Not sure) since everyone kept going on it. CoolMathGames was still a-ok though.

In elementary school I think they banned flip-flops because people's feet kept getting hurt. In middle school they were super strict with the dress code and would call you over if you were breaking (dying your hair unnatural colors was included in this). In high school, however, no one cares about the dress code and rarely do anything if someone's breaking it. So, there's short-shorts and exposed midriffs galore there.

I once got dresscoded at my school for wearing gray socks instead of white.

Please, screech at me about Kirby characters or Kirby games. I love them and need to yell everything I know before I go insane.
