It's late but I gotta make this post.
Okay so some people might know that every year a buck looses it's antlers just for them to grow back. It's pretty normal, you don't really think about it.
When the antlers grow back they are covered in soft fur for some time.
These are called 'Red Velvet Deer Antlers'

Look at them! [s]They look so soft and wonderful[/s]. But the fur sheds right? You'd think the process would be that of a snake. But oh, oh no.

This happens. The antlers shed it's fur and the blood vessels break, causing the antlers to bleed.
Now I don't want to get banned from the forums for posting something too bad so google it yourself if you want more...graphic examples.
BUT THAT'S NOT THE END OF IT!
The deer shed their bloody antler fur just for them to do the one unthinkable thing! They. Eat. It.
Deer eat their own antler skin.
I give up.

That's....so fascinatingly gross. Like very interesting -- never knew that --- but also just a tiny bit morbid.
It's great!
(I think. It is late where I am)

But still, it's nifty...but ouch man.

No matter what they do, they’re cute!
What’s wrong with shedding stuff and eating them, I mean, a lot of animals like some insects eat their eggshells and stuff, and that’s plain cute!

My parents once tried feeding fish to arctic foxes and a caribou (reindeer) just ate it. They're hardcore.
