@KitschBird It's not exciting when your custom made dinos (designed and bought with real money) also die. It's especially annoying when you can't find the right mate (if you only buy one custom, or you buy two but the other is a different breed/sex or vastly different in pattern) to pass on that pattern and don't have enough premium currency to make a clone of the dino.

RIP run on sentences.

@Cronch @PrehistoryMaker

The latest studies about T. rex claim they probably had scales, not feathers. Though maybe the chicks had feathers!

There are always new discoveries being made about dinosaurs, so maybe someone will find a feathered T. rex, but for now the consensus seems to be they were scaly.

@dragonsmirk
Thank you for sharing that! I didn't know. I can go back to imagining them as scaly.

I need him

Totally pumped for Evosaur. I love Xylax's art, but if it's like Lioden I may leave after a bit. Lions dying got old pretty fast

@Avessa
Sorry, I've never played Exhibited before and they're closed to registration now. There's no wiki or anything to give us info, so I know close to nothing about what Evo's gonna be like. (I do hope there's no death mechanic though, that sounds like a great way to deter players.)
But Xylax does have a DeviantArt page, and he answers some questions there. You might be able to ask him about any possible death mechanic.
If you do, please tell us what he says! :0
@bibio
No problem! I love introducing people to new stuff all the time. :D It's always cool to see that other people are hyped for Evosaur too!
@/Rinaminori @/Cronch I'm happy Cronch mentioned "shrink-wrapping" because I had no idea what it meant either. It basically means reconstructing what living dinosaurs would have looked like while making them appear too skeletal or thin. Artists do not deviate too far from the dinosaur's skeleton or account for all the muscles and other possible soft tissue. I would link to an excellent article, but it includes an image of dino sex. Here's an image from that article: EDIT: Sorry for terrible JPEG compression, but that's the best I could get that image. This blog entry that has some extreme examples of shrink-wrapping. EDIT: Warning, contains an image of a dino pooping, if that bothers you.
@KitschBird Wow, that's super creepy and interesting at the same time! I love it. Thanks for explaining it for us.
