Hello, I have snakes. ^ This is called a horned viper. They live in the deserts of North Africa and the Middle East, are venomous, and are also cute AF. ^ The tentacled snake! Native to southeast Asia, these are aquatic sneks that eat fish and are the only snakes to have little tentacles on their face. ^ The long-nosed vine snake who looks like a RL Scyther and also like he's laughing at you. They're not particularly fast so they mostly camoflauge themselves in the leaves and their diet mainly consists of lizards, though they also eat frogs. ^ Last but not least the atheris hispida (aka the spiny bush viper or the rough-scaled bush viper). From Central Africa, these snakes are mostly nocturnal and can most often be found basking on top of flowers and leaves of stalks they've climbed up on.

I didn't read this thread but has anyone mentioned caecilians yet? They're limbless amphibians that live underground. Inread about them in an animal encyclopedia as a kid and I think they're super neat haha. Since no one's mentioned it yet KAKAPO They're a flightless bird from New Zealand and apparently there's only 123 in the world now.

I found an animal at my zoo with an adorable name - Kinkajou. I told my boyfriend about it and he didn't believe it exists.

Coming back because with all these reptiles, no one has mentioned the tegu! These guys are super smart, and are basically scale-y dogs. There's one in particular at the zoo my sister works at named Diego - he comes to you when called! And I think with the proper permit you can actually own them as a pet. There are a few varieties, but Diego is a black and white tegu.
predatory tunicates are just big screamin mouths that live on the ocean floor. theyre the perfect life form imo also, this messed up worm thing, which is actually made up of TONS of tiny creatures stuck together called 'pyrosomes' and if that's not enough then there's the scaly-footed gastropod, living in deep sea hydrothermal vents (like 2,800 meters deep) and sporting a literal suit of armor: their shell is made up partially of freaking iron and laughs at human's puny drills other cool, underappreciated animals: hero shrew (reinforced skeleton, full-grown man can stand on its back with one foot and it'll be completely unharmed) the hairy frog or "wolverine frog", which fights by breaking its toes and forcing its sharpened bones through its skin (yikes!!) the pigbutt worm (yeah another sea critter. the ocean's weird), most famous for looking like a floatin butt nasute termites AKA "the bug with an honest-to-god gun on its face" ((fun fact termites are more closely related to cockroaches than ants)) im gonna post more eventually this is uh. kinda my Special Interest
I have some new favorite animals thanks
