Quick question, anyone here taken down the Shagaru Magala? That's my next quest, and I haven't taken it up quite yet since it seems like it's gonna be nasty.
I main Switch Axe, I think it's the Tigrex upgraded one? I've got Nargacuga Helm, Rathalos Chest, Nerscylla waist, Rathalos boots, and Nargacuga arms.

My Lightning resistance is shot, to say the least. With the gear I've got, should I be okay taking it down?

I beat him recently, he's weak to dragon and has no lightning attacks that I know of you DEFINTELY want all the defense you can get... I like Fish and Dairy, Steamed. This gives Defender (lo) and Riser (hi)

Defender will give you some extra cushion if you get hit on some occassions, riser will extend your invulerability while getting up if he launches you. Which he will a lot

BRING FLASH BOMBS When he flies into the sky to roar throw one of those suckers at him and he will take a nose dive into the ground and be vulnerable to hit.

As far as I know he's immune to traps and meat.

Other than that I don't know if you use any status aliments on your weapons so I can't suggest anything. He fights like the Gore magala but he's faster and hits harder.
You cannot over prepare enough, you want lots of nulberries, palicoes that can heal and extra honey for more mega potions. You will be restricted to one room and your only sources of cover are breakable so you don't want to linger too long.

He's also weak to dragon!

Super good to know, thanks much for all the advice! Oddly enough, I've never used a flash bomb before. I usually just whack it until it falls.
