General Discussion

You know, this one that was released during the April 1st Nintendo Direct? Yeah, I just realized that that horse thingy that is at 1:35, is the new Avatar character. O_O Please tell me I'm not the only one who saw this. (But this DOSE explain kinda why both of the Avatar's family's are making them decide.)

Maybe the avatar character is something important and that's why the Nohr take them instead of killing them?

Lol. Well, if you didn't know about the game, here's the actual reveal trailer.
And for the "last of their kind" thing you said, they were born to the Hoshido royal family, and they have 4 birth siblings. That would have to mean that the 4 of them are that too. It's all kinds of weirdness, that we won't completely understand until a year from now when they release the dang game outside of Japan.

And on a side note, cause I'm curious, that man you see get pulverized by arrows, who do you two think he is? (I'm thinking that he's either the birth father of the Avatar, or that they were their guard.)

Yes, Kamui (the player character) is the dragon. I think the current idea is that the guy who gets shot is Kamui's father. And that Nohr's king picked up infant Kamui after he is killed.

What I'm assuming is that Kamui is probably the 'rightful' heir of Hoshido, as he/she seems to be the only one who can use the dark dragon powers.

@AtheistPaladin I would agree with Kamui probably being the rightful heir, except for the fact that Ryouma is their older brother. And even if special powers are involved, the eldest is almost always the one to take the throne. I also suspect that Hinoka is older than Kamui, but that the archer brother is younger than them, just like Sakura. So, I don't think they were an infant when Garon picks them up. Probably like, 5 years old, tops.

That's assuming that FE will use a standard monarchy system, but judging by the Hoshido architecture (specifically the statue in that one shot) there's definitely an emphasis on the dragon's importance. Right of succession could easily be tied to the manakete thing.

Hey, that's fine. :) I've been ITCHING for someone to debate stuff that could happen in this game, and even if it's not paragraphs of debate material, it's fun to do so! ^_^ (Only bad thing, is that now I'm more excited for the game than ever, and it's not coming out for another year! T^T )

Alright, actually on a computer this time.
I haven't gotten a good look at the latest trailer because I was watching the Direct with friends, and they aren't the type to pull apart trailers and speculate. I'm still a bit iffy on the names, since I'm under the assumption that some of them might be changed during localization.

I love a good discussion about games of any sort, really helps the hype.

@AtheistPaladin I actually got my first look at the Nintendo Direct from Quarter Guy's reaction of it on youtube, then I went and watched the FE trailer over and over and over and over since it was really the only thing that drew my attention. I have a feeling a good portion of the names will be changed as well, because, ya know, English localization teams don't really like a lot of the Japan only names that are so pretty. But, I'm still gonna stand on my theory until get gets proven otherwise, that for each side, that 2 of the siblings are older than the Avatar, and that the other 2 are younger.

I never really do discussion things for games since I'm usually late to the party, but yes. Tiz very much fun, and I'm am so excited for the game, I wish that it were coming out tomorrow... T^T
