Now here comes an accent maker's biggest headache - did we go overkill on the design and suffer needing to pay for a Skin blueprint? this part will cover that.

In many cases, sites like @/Vendrus' RESKIN can help check them for you. But what if the breed is fresh from the oven (or jungle, as when this post was made)? Then this is where manual calculation is needed. It's important that you follow these step by step otherwise you will think your small coverage accent is an 80% coverage.

You can also use FR's official guide here. IDK why it's not in the Encyclopedia

1. This is GIMP. you will only need the dragon base colour, and your accent.
If you have not resized them to 350px, go to Image -> Scale Image -> 350px -> Scale.

image.png

2. Go to Windows > Dockable Dialogs > Channels. A funky tab will appear on the right of your screen named channels, and it will have 4 parts to it, with an empty space below it.

image.png

3. Right click your accent layer on Layers tab, and when the list appears, click Alpha to Selection. Your accent will now have dotted lines around it.
image.png

4/ Go to your Channels Tab now. Right click the empty space and when the list appears, click on New Channel.
image.png

5. A Popup will appear. Set the Fill Opacity to 0, and make sure Initialise from Selection is ON / X.
image.png

6. A new layer in the empty space called Channel will appear. Drag and drop it directly onto the canvas.
image.png

7. boom. there will be your accent in all white, above an all black background.
image.png

8. Go back to your Layers Tab, and right click your Base Colour image now. When the pop up appears, click on Alpha to Selection.
image.png

9. There will be a dotted line around on your canvas. It is outlining the base colour now.
  • Go to Windows -> Dockable Dialogs -> Histogram. A graph with many numbers and a gradient will appear.
  • Select Channel Copy on the Layers by itself. This may cause the Mean number to change. Multiply the value by 100% and you will get the percentage!

for proof, the accent in this screenshot can be checked on reskin, and you can download the image yourself to test :
