noteworthy numbers

This week ice passed 7.5 million dragons, and arcane passed 7 million! The figure for the average number of first generation dragons hatched in a week remains inflated due to the anniversary obelisk release, but we can expect that to smooth out as more weeks of data are added. This week I made sure to record the exalted dragon stats first, complete within 3 minutes of the end of rollover, so speedy EvW exalters won't have impacted the stats there (next week's stats will be interesting to see!)The number of dragons exalted this week was the lowest on record here, just under 95k (the calm before the storm?). This week we passed 2.5mil Earth dragons hatched, as well as passed 90k Ice progenetors created, and the number of Lightning element dragons at time of recording was exactly 5,135,000. satisfying. The figure for the average number of first generation dragons hatched in a week remains inflated due to the anniversary obelisk release, but we can expect that to smooth out as more weeks of data are added.

What a week! I'm definitely going to need to look at excluding outliers from the weekly average calculations after this. The battle between Earth and Water resulted in 435,367 dragons exalted, which despite higher than average new hatch figures resulted in an overall population decline. Enjoy the fresh new lair space, everyone! This week pushed the overal exalted dragon proportion from its usual place below 79.2% up past 79.4%, which does not look like a lot but is noticable in the data. The figure for the average number of first generation dragons hatched in a week remains inflated due to the anniversary obelisk release, but we can expect that to smooth out as more weeks of data are added.

We are set on the brink of reaching 7.5 million wind element dragons, less than 200 away! This week we also passed 10,000 first generation eternally youthful dragons, congrats on the 10k everyone. Meanwhile the number of Ice element eternally youthful dragons hit 6k, and remains the highest represented element among eternally youthful dragons, followed by Light. The figure for the average number of first generation dragons hatched in a week remains inflated due to the anniversary obelisk release, but we can expect that to smooth out as more weeks of data are added. Averages calculated excluding the top and bottom 10% of values (gettin those outliers outa here) are now also available for viewing on the spreadsheet.

With Beastclans appearing low on the dominance board for most of the week, I was expecting something interesting with the exaltation numbers. Alas, the exalt stats are fairly average, even a bit on the low site. The number of Light element progens also hit 85k this week! The figure for the average number of first generation dragons hatched in a week remains inflated due to the anniversary obelisk release, but we can expect that to smooth out as more weeks of data are added.

There was nothing particularly notable in the numbers this week. The change in exalted progens has been somewhat low the last few weeks, but not too far out of the ordinary. Are more newbies keeping their progens or are more older players restoring theirs, we just don't know.
