It seems that Hard mode Method 2 is faster than Hard Method 1 and even Very Hard.
Hard (Method 1)
1,625 clicks to solve 47 levels (average: 34.5 turns)
Very Hard (Method 1)
1,478 clicks to solve 19 levels (average: 77.7 turns)
Hard (Method 2)
1,436 clicks to solve 47 levels (average: 30.5 turns)
