TOPIC | Hopes for the wind ancient?
I want something feathery with no wings and an explanation as how they can fly without them.
I want to then apply this how-they-fly to the flightless dragons that live in Wind clans.
Also, what's a gem breed? Does that mean that its release would be limited to only players that can afford to pay real money for gems? [emoji=fathom sad size=1]
(I've only been around for the releases of Auraboas, Dusthides, Fathoms, and Everlux, so I apologize if this is common knowledge)

it just means breed changes are expensive and you can get them without spending real money anyways

@BudgieGryphon I think that the kite wings would make a super sick line breaking gene. Maybe with Ribbons trailing behind the dragon's tail. If they give the wind ancient wicker/woven you could just make a kite dragon XD. However, I do like the manta ray idea, and it would definitely subvert expectations. Same with something like flying fish. I would be happy with just about anything though as long as it's not long and noodly. I know that's what a lot of people want to see though, especially after the everlux fiasco...but we already have imperials, spirals, auraboas, and undertides. I'm just tired of the noodle dragons, so your manta ray dream would honestly be a breath of fresh air XD

I'm expecting this to be a gem breed so I'm not expecting anything super dramatic, as staff have gone on record saying that they don't want to lock visually-interesting breeds behind the gem paywall.
"But why do you say that?"
Mainly because there seems to be a pattern going for gem Ancients. There were 3 Ancient breeds between Veilspun and Sandsurge (Aberrations, Undertides, and Aether) and there's now been 3 more Ancient breeds (Auraboas, Dusthides, and Everlux) between Sandsurge and the Wind ancient.
"But staff haven't said anything yet!"
Yeah, because Everlux released in November and December is basically the staff's month off. They probably wanted to wait until the new year to start working on the Wind Ancient so that progress wasn't interrupted by vacation and the holidays. If it is a gem breed, we could be getting news this month at the earliest.
Anyways, with that out of the way, I'd love a Wind Ancient that flies in a unique way, with or without wings. Something like a dandelion fluff or balloon, or a kite or a blimp, or heck even a pinwheel. I really want an explorer type that just sort of goes wherever the wind takes it.
(Also wanted to add that Couriers are unlikely to ever be a breed. They're supposed to be completely neutral and unsworn to any flight, deity, or clan, which is why they're allowed to do their jobs in the first place.)

Bird dragon, bird dragon, bird dragon! Let me make birds, Banescale like body shape but with feathers. I won't be disappointed if its not, I just want a bird dragon, and it does fit.
It being a gem breed does make sense with the three patten and wind already having two treasure breeds, but in my mind shadow and lightning make sense, whereas wind doesn't. I don't think lore is considered for breed pricing though. As shadow are tricksters: pay up and have to work hard for lightning (and gems are blue).
My silly idea Swipp's partner is a wind ancient, with acquiring being tied in to that. (I'm not thinking of logistics I just think it would be funny)
