Some say that the ancient city of Alhiradae never existed, others whisper that they were wiped out by an Emperor of the past. The city was rumored to be warm and welcoming, if a bit reclusive.

On the night of the Autumn Hallow's Eve, a distant rumble, the terrible roar of a Tainted Beast disturbed the structure of a heavily sealed ruin, deep within the heart of Dragonhome. And with it, two Pearlcatchers stumbled out of the rubble, the magic that kept them in a state of stasis for centuries finally dissipating as the seal cracked and crumbled.

Sorrel, the daughter of Alhiradae's noble King Hadien and Queen Neroma, and Sylvain, her beloved consort.

At the time, Sylvain was one of Alhiradae's future rulers, the prince consort of Sorrel. But neither young Pearlcatcher had the chance to settle into that position, not before the prosperous city caught the eyes of a Tainted Beast, now more commonly known as an Emperor.

Buildings were destroyed in flashes of fire, light, and arcane, lives were cut short despite all attempts to evacuate civilians.
To prevent the loss of the heir and her mate, King Hadien made the hard choice to seal them into stasis, locked away in ruins far underground.

Centuries passed in what felt like the blink of an eye, until the birth of a new Tainted Beast in the area caused distant tremors. The force finally cracked the seal that kept them hidden away from the world, and they could take their first breath in modern Sorneith.

Their journey across Dragonhome eventually led the two to a beautiful autumn forest, where they promised to bring the proud name of Alhiradae back from the grave.
