We are approaching dragon 99999999 and 100000000, what could go wrong?

-->exalted by separate players, sitewide hunt to track them down
or
-->both by the same player, have to decide which one to restore

--> can't be restored, as the player just restored a dragon prior to exalting
[*] Account they are on gets banned
[*] IDs get skipped
[*] ID numbers get hidden in order to focus on the dragons themselves
[*] At 9 digits IDs will now be written in scientific notation or rounded in some way
[*] Site can't handle 9 digits and crashes, no more dragons can be hatched
[*] Obelisk flair fiasco 2 or similar situation happens
[*] Dragons Georg happens, someone hatches thousands of eggs offsetting predictions

Personally I've been imagining it happening right at NOTN rollover and the site going down all day haha

as funny as it would be for a single user to end up with both id's, considering my progens are two digits apart because someone else's progen was generated at the same time as mine and that was back in 2014 when the site wasn't under as much traffic as it was now... yeah we'll be getting some weird nests with siblings multiple digits apart i imagine. i assume the crazy lag will stop a lot of the newbies or those unaware of what's happening from hatching nests so it'll likely be hatched by someone attempting to catch the number or another special id.

I was thinking about that as well, but I don't know if there would be an uproar of people saying its not fair (even with there being a slim chance of hatching the ID).

This is gonna be a doozy, and I apologize. Last NoTN, there were some bug fixes (apparel and gene) tied to Obelisks. One of these...was claiming that Flair was bugged via [i]the entire mane was the wrong color (it was apparently meant to mimic things like Pearlcatcher manes). On all Obelisks. On all colors.[/i]
No one could find a bug report for this supposed issue, no one had known it was an issue, and Flair's announcement banner showed an Obelisk, meaning there was no way anyone could have believed it was bugged. There was no gene error backlog thread too so there was zero communication it could've happened.
Chaos erupts, memes were made, and the entire site may as well have erupted into a civil war. The site even went down at one point because hackers attempting to steal rare items off of compromised accounts. But in the end, two polls were made- the first was taken down because the option people wanted so badly (revert Obe alone) wasn't there.
