I don't mean the 100% official canon lore. I meant realistically, genetics-wise. Would two different dragons produce a hybrid baby or not, if they were real?

Do you have hybrids in your lore? Why or why not?

scribbles, canonically, used to be a hybrid! their old artwork had a spiral's tail, and i believe one of the old q&as confirmed that they had some spiral in their lineage.

Pretty sure given the size differences between different breeds, it's all magic anyway. If we're not working with genetics, I don't see why dragons couldn't hybridize magically instead.

Given the physical differences(more importantly limb differences), evolutionarily and realistically speaking, [b]no way[/b] in heck would any hybrid be viable nor possible[emoji=coatl sad size=2]. [b]The only ones[/b] that would be likely able to crossbreed are ones [b]similar in size[/b] with the [b]same amount of limbs.[/b] Of course, that is using Earth rules. Obviously those rules don’t apply to Sornieth, so go wild lol. Personally I love seeing additions where there’s fun additions from other species, the more unique the better. I haven’t got any hybrid additions in my lore (yet…) simply because I have a backlog of things to work on already. [emoji=coatl tongue size=2]

I headcanon that certain aspects are passed between generations from both parents, but they lean heavily towards one breed or another, like Scribbles Spiral tail, or a family with bigger Faes because there was an Imperial in their line once upon a time, Tundras with less fur because one of their parents had scales, etc etc everything is possible with magic :)

i totally absolutely love the idea of hybrid dragons!!!!!!! its sooo fun to think about different combinations and how certain like. Crossbreeds would look its so so very fun i should have some of my dragons be hybrids because im crazay about hybrids and genetics . so fun

I think the wings of fire approach would be neat but the dragons there are all quite similar to begin with, FR has a way more varied range of dragon body types and limbs while the WOF dragons mostly are all similar to the traditional western dragon.

If hybrids are a thing then wouldn't most dragons end up being hybrids like how there aren't really any "pure bred" humans? Like how everyone's got multiple races in their ancestry and whatnot
