When I saw the title I was worried the ear hair would grow out of their ears that I just never noticed. I'm glad it's not. Oh god, that mental image won't leave me anytime soon

It is a surprise but it is just a little tuft.Just another of those extra little details in the designs of the dragons. Although now for some reason I now imagine their ears like furry goat ears instead of near-naked or just a bit fuzzy.

I was thinking the same exact thing. Realizing it was just good ol' ear tufts was truly a blessing in disguise. Long live ear tuft imperials!

Ah, I had completely forgotten about the male Imperial ear tuft! Tragically, as far as I can tell, the females do not have tufts like the males do.
