Looking at to the left of this message will probably clarify which I prefer-- and for the record, only 6 of my dragons are actual permas!

I don't like having a large lair because I find it kind of stressful. You have to worry about food, space, and (often) finding the funds for too many projects.

I like being able to put a lot of care and time into each of my dragons individually, and keep them updated if new, better genes come out. It helps that I'm extremely picky and only buy or hatch+keep unbred G1 doubles (aside from my imp) that I can plan with an accent I own. I also level all of my permas to 25, so there's that, and I haven't finished the lore for my six-- I have no idea how anyone could manage hundreds!

You're exactly the kind of lair I'm somewhat aiming for. Your lair is so pleasing to look at and I can see how much effort you've put into every single dragon in there <3

@MonoMagpie Thank you, I'm flattered [emoji=snapper happy size=1]! I wish you luck- scaling down can be kinda tough imo but you'll get there if that's what you want to achieve!

i aim for a smaller lair myself but i love bigger lairs, so many pretty dragons!!

Obviously that hasn't happened (looks at ~150 permas). But I like all of them, so. I don't think I'll ever have a really large lair (300-600) because, with that many, I'd naturally become less attached to my less favorites and wind up exalting them (I'm pretty proactive about exalting anyone who no longer sparks joy). But who knows? If I do wind up with such a large lair and am still happy with all my dragons then I'll enjoy it.

i wish i could be one of those cool smaller lairs but i love all my dragons too much to get rid of any more :')

there's been plenty of larger lairs i've really liked over the years but i have the attention span of a pea so it can take me days to even weeks to browse through some people's lairs so i can absolutely appreciate the smaller ones. personally i like having a smaller lair better because it means i can coordinate colors to a stronger degree and also the way i set up my permas means its way harder for me to come up with outfits and coordinating accents so i earn permas very slowly.
