Routine, scheduled, backend means it won't really affect the user-side of things. FR staff clarifies this to prevent people from getting excited about regular maintenance.

I bet it's a part of the site refactor stuff. Probably not the nesting grounds/breeding system, but iirc there's some smaller stuff they've still gotta refactor. Either way, we probably won't be seeing anything big or new after it.
