Well, if they're anything like vertebrates (and they are), they need pupils to see, even though what you are talking about are not pupils but highlights to indicate that the eyes are a glassy and moist surface!

If you zoom in on a larger version of the banner mirror, they kinda do look like they have slightly visible pupils:
