I just noticed this. In the Arena venue there's the Celestial antelope who looks like this: and there's the Solar Blades apparel, which looks like this: and I was just like OH MY GOD, the ancient dragons (like those that were around during the time of these apparel pieces being created) based the design of the apparel they wore ceremonially with the appearance of the wildlife around them, using the animals they interacted with to create works of art that combined their religous beliefs with the world around them! and it evolved! after that, site skins came out that you could acquire in the coli! staff confirmed that accents and skins are like "a coat of paint on the body of the dragon". This practice of adapting patterns and motifs from your environment is similar to the body-painting tradition of some cultures like the ancient Aztecs, for example. Not only did they use colorful pigments and mesmerizing patterns, like so: they also used themes of dragons, drawn like this: one of their deities was known as Quetzalcoatl, and who shared some physical characteristics with the Coatl breed on flight rising. ok so hear me out. I just noticed this.

and while we're on the topic of ancient cultural similarities, let's talk about imperials! look at this lad and tell me he doesn't look like a cross between an imperial and a spiral! The head of the imperial bears striking resemblance to the head of the ancient Chinese dragons of myth. Not only that, but those dragons had long, scaled, multi-legged bodies, similar to Spirals on this site! a key difference is that Chinese dragons were often portrayed as wingless, but the mythological dragons were also often portrayed with themes of clouds and wind! These dragons also came in many colors, according to myth and lore, and often represented elements, the pursuit of knowledge, and magical ability. Often being large (like imperials) and able to fly long distances with agility (like spirals). According to myth, these ancient dragons were often kind and benevolent, but when they died, massive geological events occurred (bearing tenuous similarity to Imperials and the creation of Emperors upon death). These ancient Chinese dragons bore motifs of having pearls, oddly, throughout history, similar to pearlcatchers now, even more interesting considering both Imperials and Pearlcatchers' links to the light flight, and these ancient dragons ties to knowledge and the pursuit of truth and righteousness. Also, look at these two side-by-side:
