I'm pretty sure that's not part of the neck, that's just the frill. In reality her head is tilted much like the male's.
I would draw a line but I'm on my work computer and it hates artsy fartsy programs. XD

yeah but then you take into account all the wearables and genes and skins theyd need to edit if they "just flop the head"
and also the fact that faes are probably a lot like snakes or birds so their necks can probably bend that way without being painful lol

This is an old piece of art I did That sort of shows how snakes heads w
ill bend and coil in that similar way.
As a person who has owned and handled a lot of snakes, often, if they aren't even coiling up to show aggression, their necks curl like that to hold their head upright. Their neck naturally bunches up like that to hold their head up to look forward.
