It's because his pronouns weren't mentioned when he was introduced and a lot of people thought 'Galore' sounded like a feminine name.

Looks too pretty to some, despite the beard. At the time of release they hadn’t used pronouns for him, so there was some debate.

People can headcanon anything they want, I think what the staff are trying to say though is that the character is a male dragon
