Work your way through just means making all the top dots Shadow in this case (Light if you are playing the opposite element).
I use a certain method from a guide given by a player which just means the pink arrow whatever it is touching is what I will touch to make the top yellow dots Shadows until I reach the bottom.
You have to continue going left in this case and if going upside down whatever opposite direction the top of the three dots is located at thus ZigZag.

I've tried it a few times out of boredom. I got it okay. Trying to do light as opposed to shadow though.. Took an embarrassingly long amount of time.

Well i did it upside down. Took me a bit longer than normal, but had less turns then i usually have. Hmmm.
