TOPIC | Clown: Why isn't it more popular?

I think on some more subtle colors it looks nice because it's - well, more subtle - but on the darker colors, to me, it looks odd. ;_; Plus it's pricey, so there's not much of a chance that I'd get it in the first place. xD;

Keep in mind that even if you don't have Clowns to sell right this moment, you can still browse it. Thinking about putting in a more permanent shops section to always be there too. Hmm. More thoughts in the morning.
I think Clown might feel a little more accessible later on once we start having more breeding pairs with it so people stop having to gene every single stinkin' dragon they want to have it. Goodness knows I'm doing my part on that front! Since my first post here I have added Clown to:

In clown news, I've two new mirror babies that are just hatched today! They both came out dark, but that's ok the clown looks gorgeous anyway! Besides adorable baby mirror clowns what can be cuter than that! :D

In clown news, I've two new mirror babies that are just hatched today! They both came out dark, but that's ok the clown looks gorgeous anyway! Besides adorable baby mirror clowns what can be cuter than that! :D

I'm back, but life is being complicated. It probably will take awhile for me to reply, because I log on irratically.
@Salmastryon Fffhfhfhfhfh Midnight Clown/Emerald Eye Spots with those Wind eyes is just help it's too perfect. My goodness.
Small update for the Clown directory: I put in a permanent shop listing so people who don't have dragons right now but do have a permanent thread can still get listed! If that includes you, go, go, fill out a form thingo so I can put you on the list.

She's already gone. I'm just waiting on their clown mirror's eggs to hatch. The boy, I just sent a nice letter turning down an offer, but I told them I'd wait for their response before I put him up. I don't have a permanent shop page. I'm considering it though. Someplace I can keep track of who wants to know when one of my pairs clutches. I'll fill out a forum when I do.
Right now though the Forum is hating me, so I'll probably have to put the little clown boy up on the AH, since I can't run an auction topic with how slow things are. It takes one to two minutes to load a forum page, never mind trying to post.

I really love Clown. I originally bought it for my first dragon (obsidian female mirror) and honestly, I wasn't that thrilled with it. I tried it on her mate just to see how it would look like, and well

Also, one of their children (the only one I've kept so far) looks really nice with Clown as well

Personally, I think Clown usually works best when there's not much contrast in the markings after applying the gene. With colour schemes like black or obsidian Clown, I think it depends on the breed of the dragon. As people have already pointed out, it looks really great on Spirals; on other breeds, however, it can look a bit too busy. Secondary gene matters, too! On some breeds, the Clown + Eye Spots combination is gorgeous, on some, Shimmer/Stripes look way better. Of course, that's all just my personal opinion, haha!
As for myself, I think I need to get at least... two more Clown genes. Coupled with my other goals, it'll take forever, but it'll certainly be worth it!

I love clown x eye spots gene the most <3 and imo they look down right FABULOUS on spirals ; w; but that might just be me C: *throws glitter around and runs off*
