Dragons are constantly fooled into believing he's an actual dragon, and his truth is apparently never found out. Some days hes just a barely recognizable lump on the floor and everyone is like "Oh Midas is just in a bad mood today."
Somehow, by pure magic, he never goes bad or decomposes, and he's always comfortably warm.

@Exlann He does look very soft and cuddly looking. But he’s too beautifully cute and perfect to breedchange to a ridgeback (I’ll admit I’ve grown on the long snoot idea).
That and he already has art to him.
But I’m not discuraging the idea of him in the potato flight.
Perhaps an ambassador and speaker for the Potatokeeper? Like, the potatokeeper rarely speaks but when he does he asks for Midas to speak what he wants to say for him. And maybe also goes to him for advice?
