maybe it's just me and im dumb but
whenever I feel sad, I like to take my oldest, most sentimental dergs, and scry them into a hatchling
when I first started, i'd buy these beautiful babies, wondering why they were so cheaply priced
and i'd get online every day, just waiting for them to grow up... imagining how beautiful they'd be as an adult
idk I just... seeing them tiny again reminds me of my excitement back then.
especially the pearlcatcher, Seraphina. she was the first dragon I bought off the AH.
I remember sitting there, thinking
"... why is she so cheap? she's so rare and beautiful... this can't be real"
yeah, they're not the prettiest-looking in the world, but... they mean a lot.

I remember buying her as a hatchling and thinking "whoa!! she'll be so cool when she grows up," and spending so much time waiting on that. Then I made her lore kind of sad oops sorry Whisper.
Haworthia, too, but she was Tyrell at the time. I snagged her in a newbie welcome thread. The person who took her sibling was going to take her as well because the thread owner said it was fine and no one seemed to want them, but I dropped in and was like "yo gimme a snap" and they were both fine with it, so I took her. Now she's my mire flyer and one of the only dragons I could never get rid of.

When I realized that I wanted another dragon (and that I could get dragons of different breeds from my element - for when I joined, I only saw the options for either Fae or Mirror custom progens and thought those two breeds were the Nature starter breeds) I toodled over to the auction house. This little guy was one of the first I saw and I immediately had to buy him for about 7kt (a huge sum to me back then - in hindsight the fodder floors were probably super high that day). I didn't know or care about basic tertiaries being 'bad', he was utterly beautiful and after I got a couple females from the Everbloom Nursery (free dragons for Nature seedlings) I spent probably an hour debating which female to be his mate. To this day I have tons of dragons with at least one basic gene because I rarely breed dragons and as long as they're pretty they can be as basic as they want. I'm also still too broke all the time to buy genes, haha.

My second hatchling was given to me when I asked for a dragon with Crystal at the Wishing Well thread, also in Nature I believe. I was delighted when I was given another [i]very[/i] purple hatchling.
