Flight Rising Discussion

I like the gene, but i'm picky about it. I love gembond! It's so versatile and adds texture :3

My problem with gembond is how obvious it is that aspects of it were copy/pasted + warped in PS. The gems stick out a good bit on the dragons skin+wings but don't cast any shadows so they look pasted on. They're bunched up in ways that keep them from the edge of the dragon and those that do break the silhoutte don't break it enough. It's a sloppily done gene tbh. Thankfully it looks like the warping issue is largely from older genes/ apparel and I haven't seen it done with anything newly released in years.

I'm not a big fan of Gembond, but it can look good on some dragons. I have few dragons with the gene, some where the gembond blends in and doesn't really attract the attention and some where it's all about contrast. I would like it a lot more if the gems were finer in shape or more spaced out. As it is now, it almost always looks like some kind of rash.

Gembond is one of those genes that if it came out yesterday, I probably wouldn't like it. But being such an old gene, you could say it's... grown on me. ;D I do like dragons with a lot of "texture"; to me, it makes them feel more three-dimensional.
