PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS THREAD IS NO LONGER BEING UPDATED. PLEASE REFER TO THIS THREAD FOR FANART AND FIND AYRERIA, STEEX, AND ME ON TUMBLR.

I was thinking of making some sort of high school human!Deity AU, the typical "self-discovery" story of a few teenagers finding out thEY ARE PART MYTHICAL REPTILE GOD!!!

So basically, it'll be a magical girl-esque story about a bunch of teens who are discovering themselves, their abilities, and the weight of responsibility they have in protecting everything they love against the Shade (not to mention all of the homework).

Please don't act like all of these ideas are forcing themselves to be everyone's headcanon, because honestly, I think everyone's entitled to their own ideas.

Please feel free to say some tropes/ideas/headcanons!

There is a countless number of contributors that have helped out so much, so please don't think I'm somehow creative enough to come up with all of this brilliant stuff.
@Steex and @Ayreria have been hecka great in their ideas/fanart //drools

UPDATE PING LIST:
@Skylinne
The Deities
  • Windsinger:
A lot of people are fond of the Windsinger. He's relaxed and a very breezy person. Hyperactive, energetic, and overall very accepting of others, Windy wants everyone to be his friend. Anyone could easily say that his utter confidence and appearance of stability is almost magnetic. He doesn't take many things seriously, especially school, and would much rather hang out with his friends at the abandoned observatory on the edge of town. Although not many people would think he's irresponsible and unskilled, Windsinger does what he loves to the best of his ability. He uses his freetime to construct a variety of aeronautic devices, and has a fondness for kites.
Windsinger has the most trouble when he finds out someone doesn't like him, and goes to extremely stressful lengths to please others.
He's the classic people pleaser, and gets very troubled when people don't enjoy his presence. Windsinger is a very attractive, almost casanova-type figure, with bronze skin and soft, black hair. He is the tallest of all of them.

  • Tidelord:
Reserved and stoic, Tidelord doesn't appear to be someone you'd want to spend a lot of time around. He is very quiet, and not many people pay attention to him. Tidelord has an almost creepy uncanny knack for predicting the future, which is never good. He is constantly under the stress of both his visions and his grades. However, Tidelord truly can relax and release his worries when he's at the beach. He loves to surf. Tidelord also loves collecting whatever he finds on the shore, like baubles or sea glass or shells.
Tidelord has medium length, wavy rusty hair. It's frequently tangled from his ventures to the beach. He has a strange-looking beard that everyone's DYING over telling him to shave, but he thinks it's cool so whatever.

  • Earthshaker:
Earthshaker certainly is daunting. Many simply judge him off his looks (and he has a permanent scowl!), but really, all he wants is to be accepted. From an early age, Earthshaker was troubled by how others treated him off his fearsome appearance, so he goes to great lengths to love and accept everyone, as he wants to be. His family is broken and Earthshaker is an overall very lonely person and is desperate for companionship. Compared to his friends, he is the most level-headed. Earthshaker also has an abnormally good memory, and works hard in school.
He is very stocky and tall, with dark skin and dark hair.

  • Flamecaller:
Flamecaller is a leader. She's assertive and passionate, and many look up to her for her boldness. Sometimes, though, she gets too heated in the topic and ends up offending a lot of people around her, which is commonplace for her at this point. She's used to people turning away because they can't handle her fiery personality. She is deadly ambitious and does things to the best of her ability always, but beats herself up horribly when she isn't the best. Flamecaller's biggest insecurity is just that -- she has to be the best, because no one remembers second place. She may seem hard-headed and rude, but Flamecaller is an extreme perfectionist that needs everything to go her way. Flamecaller does not like water, and works around flames often -- her family in Japan worked for a novelty-but-almost-vintage samurai-sword company, and she has taken up the craft herself. Her room is filled with a collection of swords, all of which she made.
She has very long black hair (which is red at the tips). She typically keeps it in a bun, because she's got to keep it up if she works near flames so often! She may be the shortest, but her build is that of a skilled athlete.

  • Stormcatcher:
    TONY STARK
Much like Flamecaller, Stormcatcher loves what he does. He is an engineer, and a skilled one at that. He works extremely hard, and a lot of people try to convince him that work isn't everything. Unfortunately, Stormcatcher doesn't care and every other night is an all-nighter. He prefers math and science over any other subject. He comes up with a lot of crazy innovations that awe his friends. He has an ambition rivaled by very few.
Stormcatcher has (extremely static-y) black hair that he sometimes gels, with an average build.

  • Lightweaver:
A regular teen genius. Lightweaver is easily the most intelligent of all of the group. She is very, very blunt and almost cruel when it comes to giving people opinions; she doesn't take many emotional hints. She can't face it when she's incorrect, and will go to literally any length to prove her correctness; this makes her very persuasive and especially determined in trying to sound correct. She may be book-smart (no, book-brilliant!), but she's a total sucker in street-smarts, trying to naively find her way through situations by using the methods she's read in fairy tales. She tends to assume everyone isn't as smart as her. She prefers using the dictionary to Google and has a lot of trouble using technology. She's rather passive and hates fighting or arguments and is the first to jump in to be a mediator between her friends, often failing by trying to show them the logic behind the issue. This makes her pushed around a lot.
Lightweaver is rather pretty, and has medium length golden hair that falls into thick waves and pale skin. She is the second shortest, and is rather fragile-looking (she's ridiculously unathletic). She wears thick glasses that she can't see without. Her fashion usually consists of GLITTER VOMIT or basic clothes.

  • Shadowbinder:
Shadowbinder seems like she'd be Lightweaver's polar opposite. She's extremely smart as well, but not as academically as she is strategically. She loves board games, especially chess, and has a strangely lucky streak of winning pretty much any game she plays, and knows her way around town. Shadowbinder would prefer not to be in the spotlight, and prefers working behind the scenes to being the main actress. She also loves playing pranks and tricking other people, but never does it maliciously as much as she does it just for fun. She is the polar opposite of her sister, but the two of them have a complicated yet strong bond. Shady is also very competitive, and like her sister, can't stand it when something doesn't go her way. Shadowbinder's also got wickedly sharp wit and has a great sense of humor, but doesn't really let it show very often.
Shadowbinder is very tall and lanky, with straight, black (is it dyed? Who knows!) hair.

  • Icewarden:
Icewarden acts like he needs no one. He is a major loner, and is a very rigid and seemingly cold person. As uptight and distant Icewarden seems, he isn't always so. His hobbies include collecting and knitting socks. He is very sentimental and has a lot of stuff from his childhood still in his room.
Icewarden is stocky with platinum blonde hair.

  • Gladekeeper:
Gladekeeper is wild. She loves anything and everything, and will not hesitate to express it. She is the most genuine and accepting of her group. She is very motherly towards anyone who needs it, but won't hesitate to yell at someone who threatens her friends. Gladekeeper is almost childlike in the fact that she's so happy all the time. Rules? Ha, that's funny. Gladekeeper thinks rules keep people from living life to the fullest, and doesn't care if she breaks them, as long as she doesn't hurt anything or anyone along the way.
Gladekeeper is of average height and is on the chubby side. She has a long, curly black mane and dark skin.

  • Plaguebringer:
Your classic bad-girl. Plaguebringer is hardy and rough, and has survived her fair share of streetfights. She's resilient and always wants her way, even in ways that might seem a little... cutthroat. She is rather hard to befriend, because what she likes isn't necessarily what someone else likes. She fights with her stepsister, Gladekeeper, all the time, and their personalities clash.
Plaguebringer has short brown hair that she occasionally gels. She's very pale and has a smattering of freckles. She is of average height and very frail-looking, but don't let that fool you.

  • The Arcanist:
A lot of people think Arcanist is a slacker. He is usually drifting and is a big dreamer. Arcanist is sort of awkward, as he's not spent a lot of time around people in his early life. He questions anything and everything. He has a fierce love for astronomy and astrology, as well as science in general, and spends most of his time writing in the observatory.
Arcanist has rather llong brown hair and very pale skin. He tends to dress like a hipster, with thick glasses and nearly always wears scarves. He isn't very tall and is very skinny.

Relationships (Friendships/Romantic/General terms among everyone)

Lightweaver and Stormcatcher
Lightweaver generally looks down upon most people and finds them unintelligent. Stormcatcher is the first person she's met who she'd consider almost as smart as her, and has accidentally found herself wildly attracted to him -- a first for a girl who is so emotionally disconnected. She does what she can to try and impress him, but Stormcatcher is usually too caught up in his work or too hard-headed to notice.

Shadowbinder and Icewarden
The two had known each other since they were younger. Icewarden is generally very self-depreciating, and Shadowbinder as well. The two of them provide each other a lot of emotional support. Their relationship isn't necessarily romantic.

Windsinger and The Arcanist
Their relationship typically consists of Windsinger messing with Arcanist. Both are dreamers, but one more mundane than the other. The two of them spend a lot of time together at the observatory.

Windsinger and Stormcatcher
Unlikely friends, Windsinger's nonchalant and laid back personality seems like it would clash against Stormcatcher's determinedness. The two of them are actually very good friends.

Flamecaller and Stormcatcher
Flamecaller considers Stormcatcher a friendly rival and a close friend. She supplies some of the supplies he needs in making things.

Gladekeeper and Earthshaker
The two of them have the most uncomplicated relationship of all of them. The two met at a save-the-earth rally and spend a lot of time together doing similar things.

Icewarden is always dressed from head to toe. He gets cold easily; it's like he radiates frost or something. He knits his own socks, sweaters, scarves, whatever, and he wears them. For all his isolation, he sure is a showoff with his masterpieces. He likes crystalline jewelry, but no way would he wear them himself.

Gladekeeper got on her hiking boots, she got on her linen t-shirt, and she clad in green and only green. Okay, maybe not only green, but you get the idea, right? She probably has a lot of pockets. She's very outdoorsy and dresses to reflect. She'd probably wear short shorts with no shame. Do you think she still has a beard? I think she might have a bit of a fuzzy face.

Plaguebringer is never without her leather jacket (the said jackets comes with spikes that look like bone). She doesn't really care about whatever else she wears with it, but it's always in dress-code, if just barely. She owns boots too, but their more of combat boots than hiking. She also has a lot of pockets.

Arcanist owns a lot of scarves. A lot of scarves. You'd think he has multiple arms or something. He dresses very casually and always for comfort. Other than his many scarves, he dresses rather lightly. He likes the color pink and is only slightly embarrassed.

They all probably own something made of the same material of what their deity dolls are made of.

Alright! Time to attempt to remember everything I wrote about these (Cool) Losers.

Windsinger A Cloudcuckoolander who would rather chill out at the old Observatory at the edge of town and build kites (and he probably hangs with Arcanist there too hella) instead of staying in a cramped classroom. He Drives Like Crazy, Even the Guys Want Him, and is the tallest of all of them. He believes in the Power of Friendship and tries to befriend everyone (even if they don't want to be his friend).
Tidelord A strange mixture of The Stoic and Surfer Dude. He's pretty depressing at school, probably lamenting how the future terrible (but he's like that because he's not very good at upkeeping his grades. He's under a lot of pressure!). He's a lot more relaxed when he's out at the beach, where all his worries are swept away by the waves. He's a crazy-good guesser and is a collector of odd things, like bottles, shells, coins, stones, etc.
Earthshaker He has a Face of a Thug, but he doesn't hate you. Actually, he loves you. Please don't leave him. He's not yandere, but he has had so many of his family members leave him, he's become a very lonely person. He has Undying Loyalty to his friends and family. He has the best balance and most weight; it's hard to knock him down. His best subject his history, but he's pretty good in all his subjects; he has the best memory. He's not bad at cooking, but it always seem to taste a bit bland. The safest driver.
Flamecaller She's The Blacksmith here too! She probably owns a whole collection of swords, knives, and other cool metal weapons. She's loud, strong, and is passionate about everything she does. Is a Lethal Chef. She likes bright colors and usually has a coat like such on hand. She really doesn't like being wet. Even the Girls Want Her and is a popular speaker.
Stormcatcher
ACTUAL TEENAGE TONY STARK
I will never get over this. Enthusiastic with his technology (and is, obviously the best at it. The Engineer.) Aside from being a computer whiz, his favorite of the core classes is Science. Work is Serious Business. History is lame. Probably has a mechanical spider deliver him coffee. Stick lasers on mundane things for Rule of Cool. Works fast.
Lightweaver Wavy blond hair (like light waves!). Hollywood Nerd (pretty, but has really thick glasses and is all up for learning). Dislikes conflicts and (due to lack of holy-smiting powers) can be easily pushed around. Loves history and is terrible with technology (can use Word and Excel just fine, since papers and spreadsheets are super important, but things like the internet? Noooope.). Drives Like Crazy. Hates being wrong and will go great lengths to try to prove her view even if she realizes that she's wrong a quarter way. Has White and Black Morality. Has the worst fashion sense (her clothes are usually white/yellow/brown plain stuff or BRIGHT GLITTER AND SPARKLES EVERYWHERE OH GOD). Commonly utilizes Brutal Honesty and sometimes cannot read the atmosphere. Blind Without 'Em. Type B Tsundere.
Shadowbinder Straight black hair. Sister to Lightweaver. Hair may or may not be dyed/straightened everyday. Not as booksmart like her sister, but she is clever. The a Master at Games and luck is usually on her side. Doesn't like being in the limelight. May feel a bit inferior to her sister when it comes to grades and intelligence. Is an Ace Pilot/Driver. Knows a lot of secrets. Beats you at cards. Favorite game is Chess. A plenty better singer compared to Lightweaver. Drools in her sleep. Cooks the strangest things.
Icewarden A Stoic Loner. Acts likes he hates you, but he probably doesn't. Type A Tsundere. Secretly likes knitting, history, and sweets. Seems to be a magnet for children. Gives the best hugs (but doesn't give them). The Designated Driver. Platinum blonde. Pretty much his only friends are Earthshaker and Lightweaver (because history rocks). Awesome sculptor. Bad at taking compliments. Does not know about his fanclub.
Gladekeeper A wild Genki Girl. On the chubby side. Master Chef. Goes to those Green Gatherings with Earthshaker to help Save the Planet. Fights constantly with her sister Plaguebringer. Maybe a vegetarian. Owns an award-winning garden. Has the longest nails. Rides a bike everywhere instead of driving. Only eats organic vegetables. Has the easiest time solving mazes.
Plaguebringer Wears a leather jacket. Probably with spikes on it. Motorcycle optional. Has perfect attendance. Goes to school even if she's ill. The Lethal-est Chef. Not a bad driver. Is very hard to befriend (it's not that she doesn't want friends, it's just that people generally aren't as interested in her liked subjects than she is). Hidden Depths include deep knowledge of medicine. Fights with her sister Gladekeeper 24/7. Has the worst teeth.
Arcanist The Bruce Banner to Stormcatcher's Tony Stark. Likes astrology is a slightly naïve. Hangs around the old Observatory at the edge of town all the time. Like to play horror games and reading creepypasta. Is very fragile physically wise. Very curious and loves learning. Daydreams a lot. Science is hella rad. Can be pretty lazy.
Gonna focus on Shadowbinder since I feel shadow is constantly mischaracterized, along with nature, and I'm a nerdy shadowling who thinks a lot about my flight.

Shadowbinder:

Class clown, always making other's laugh with quick wit. However, very few are allowed to see beyond the jokes. Clever, street smart and intuitive rather than book smart and factual. School work is easily the most boring thing in the world to her. Plays pranks on people, willing to lie(especially about privacy), tends to slip into seeing people as chess pieces for her entertainment so she needs the few people who have an actual relationship with her to help keep her manipulative nature under control. Can say and do things just to get a reaction. Very competitive and self assured, loves to win. If someone is playing a game she will invite herself in just to see if she can beat them. Sore loser, tries to hide her moping. Someone getting the better of her will cause her to want some alone time, but eventually she's back up and tying people up in her games once more.
While she is very extroverted, and some see her as just a funny person, it should be noted she observes everything and is constantly calculating and strategizing. In times when she is quiet and just watching, she is hardly noticed.
Lightweaver's black and white morality drives her crazy because she sees everything as complicated shades grey. Despite this, they get along rather well, making fun of each other's expense in an endearing way. But when they butt heads, it's a big fight.
Scoffs at traditional values, more into counter culture and grungy punk stuff, plaid button downs, ripped jeans, piercings ect. Can be flippant about authority. Has big bushy brunette hair that frames and sometimes covers her face. Is latina, along with her sister Lightweaver. Always seems to have a wry smirk on her face. Calls herself a 'freak' and those in her circle 'the freakshow', which includes people the typical middle class christian parents would say to stay away from. Likes to throw wild parties. Probs good friend with Plaguebringer because she's not put off by her behavior.

I like your characterization. I like to think Shady is a compulsive liar (as opposed to Glitter's honor honesty). Don't things just to see what others would actually help with her relationship with Frosty over there ("My my; what an interesting reaction.")
I actually like to think that the sisters have Greek heritage since their two domains have ruins style as such, like the pillars that litter every where in the Sunbeam Ruins and the Athens-like philosophy focus and the Tangled Wood's Crescent Forum that Shady hangs out in.
I've been going with Shady's personality as an invoked out-of-focus image to increase contrast with Glitter and to widen the personality range of all the deities. Shady prefers to work behind the scenes while Glitter stands in broad daylight. Glitter needs to balance everything out herself while Shady pulls the strings to let the conflict create itself. Shady asks How? while Glitter asks Why? Shady can start the party, but the police won't find here when they come. Others will start the fight, but in the end the only trace is Glitter cleaning up.

Also, I agree that the relationship between Shady and Glitter isn't actually very bad, or, at least, not as poisonous (heh) as the one between Glade and Plague. I like to think that they didn't really grow up with tons of money, so Shady, being the older sibling, would steal books from the local store to give to her prodigy little sister who then goes to win fame and fortune to her family. She probably lied to her about where she got the books too, like she "found" them somewhere.
I also just think it's hilarious that Shady could be a fake-brunette as opposed to the stereotypical fake-blonde.
