Ever since she could speak, the Coatl has happily babbled about 'Gorb'. Maybe the concentrated pestilence on her face got her her brain, or perhaps she does see something others don't with those pulsating gooey peepers. She was eventually named for her favorite phrase, always insisting other dragons should 'Ascend with Gorb', with varying amounts of the word ascend. Still, she's friendly enough, if you can tolerate constantly being asked to fly. Most assume 'Gorb' is just her favoured name for the Plaguemother, but she's never clarified when asked about it. She's proud of her element and wants you to know all the ways it can be great, and be your friend. She does seem to have some incredibly good luck...but it's just coincidence, probably. it's just coincidence that mocking 'gorb' often gives you a cold. She's a legacy dragon from both Sunless Seas, as well the Gates. She's proud of those adventures, though not quite as quick to tell the tales as Manfred. Yuuki also may have developed a bit of fondness for said excitable mirror. [b]Connections to Setting:[/b] [i] Ridgestone Connection[/i], a chapter in the collective lore of most dragons on the first page of my lair, outlines the connections between the Icefield’s scrapyard tenants and the clan. Once weekly, the robots will gather food and preserve it in a way the wild cannot, and a clan ambassador will visit to drop off spare parts and metal in exchange for the food. While the robots once remained in the shadows, the trade seeming like a supernatural phenomenon. When a grand battle broke out amidst a visit, however, they had no choice but to reveal themselves. At the call of Titanium, second in clan command, many dragons came to their aid, beginning a strong relationship between the groups. Titanium, an EoE veteran, heard of the adventure and visited the scrapyard at once with a request to speak to Otto, a timid, flightless, but otherwise ambitious false skydancer. He has the fighting spirit and mind to out-science his opponents, though he’s simply too sheepish to act upon it. Disregarding leader Zane’s wishes and ignoring Timekeeper’s obvious hints that he’d rather go himself, Otto is sent with a full inventory of well wishes and advice, and a makeshift aerial apparatus. Not only did Ti wish to boost his confidence and adventure skill, but as the keen observer Otto is, he felt his geeky servers would be fit perfectly for the job. He has the wisdom of Timekeeper, ambition and reasoning of Star, positivity of Morrow, perception of Torstyn, and knowledge of an entire cutting edge research company on his hand. A scatterbrain and a few speaking errors is a small price to pay for a successful quest. [b]Other Information:[/b] Otto was never built to be seen. System: Autocorrect was resident in the company’s servers and scanned all papers and information for errors, but also cataloging. As information regarding advanced AI seen in other robots was entered, the system learned and took on a life of its own. At any given time, only three beings could access the archives, being the company’s leader, one specific individual on a case-by-case basis, and the system itself. To guard the servers, a Skydancer frame was built and installed that the system could download itself into. It was one of the earliest robotic dragons, and no effort was made to conceal how it had to be connected to the room to use, and little effort was put into making sure the cosmetics fit properly. As it was rarely used and the archives were never visited, it fell into a state of disrepair and was eventually forgotten. Only when RONAN attempted to read archived papers did it have to reactivate. Despite its appearance, which was especially disconcerting to a fellow robot, active in an environment in which progress was everything, and older figures were never spoken of and much less seen, he revealed himself as a benevolent and equally curious spirit. A situation arose, and System: Autocorrect was shut down, but not before transferring into the soon removed Skydancer once more. Awakening in the scrapyard after routine repairs were made by its residents, he was more eager to learn now than ever before. They made upgrades and allowed him full autonomy, when he then made it his mission to discover how five perfectly good androids all wound up here. In time, he would learn, but not before becoming something of a mad scientist, feeding off of archived information and new knowledge. He’s become an asset to the team, ready to take on anything his mind allows. His physical form still restricts him, however, which has lead to internal and external conflict, especially being paired by with a physically perfect drone.
