They traveled near and far, searching various exciting places.

One day, the dragon (whose name was Delgatto) decided to surprise his friend.

He gifted his friend a beautiful gem, much like the diamond he had described them as.

But looks can be deceiving, in a blissful second, the awestruck familiars face had frozen still, a statue, the diamond was cursed.

In a mix of shock and fear of the possibility he had killed his only friend, Delgatto fled the scene, dropping the cursed diamond to the ground as he did.

Delgatto hid from everyone, and he never stayed in one place for long. After a couple years of absence, he was declared dead by those who knew him and hated him.

When in fact he had been sailing the seas for a cure/revive for his friend, surely if he was made of similar crystal there must be something he could do. He was too determined and ashamed to return home until his quest was complete.

After more years of searching, he still came up empty handed, but as luck would have it, he found a fellow sailor. The fellow told Delgatto a place where he might find the stone he was looking for, but it was kept away by the gods.

Each God told him of a different location it could be hidden; within the eye of The Twisting Crescendo, frozen in a block of ice at The Fortress of Ends, forgotten in the depths of The Leviathan Trench, or perhaps even buried underneath The Pillar of the World itself.
