Fancy rats are completely different than wild rats (basically like dogs vs wolves)! Fancy rats do not fare well in the wild, but are amazing pets and very trainable. They love human interaction and are very social, so should be kept in groups of at least 2 (but more is even better!)
If you're thinking about having pet rats, please feel free to mail/ping me. Just know they need attention daily, are prone to illnesses, and are quite expensive.
